Only solution to the problem of not being able ot have observers is to change the -afk command so that the screen does not lock with the menu. Obs dont have to worry about afiai taking over every 5mins. Even then, it would only work where both teams have agreed on obs and each team has even number of obs.

Another solution would be to change how the 5min afk ai works, could make it a toggleable command switching it off/on with -awayai so it wont be a problem in organised games.

Mayby is it possible with 14 slotsTongue or 20 !!!!!!! dunno..

No i dont believe it is possible without altering the game itself, and its not open source. Its like trying to give tanks more than 6 slots. Cant happen in the wc3 engine. Mapmakers just make maps, not mods. (although some people call them mods anyway).

hmm what about a command like -obs you can tip in. then you are treated like a leaver but u can still be ingame.

Im completely for it if its not too much trouble, but it only provides convenience, because just getting a tinker and watching the game is the same thing, you need to perform an action once every 5mins. For an observer mode to work and not be abused, im not sure how it would be implemented.

It could be only open before game mode is picked but then red cant be obs. Doing it the manual way isnt really that bad as long as teams are even numbered.

No, it isn't. The observer player will get their share of the force gold, and thus weaken their team. The tinker will also get killed in the late game when their base is pushed, providing further gold imbalance - the pilot, doesn't have that issue - but you'd have to keep using the pilot TP ability to prevent the AI from taking over.
