I know, that thread is a bit old now, but as I recently started working on this again (done with school and loads of free time currently), I'd like to show the results to you.

By time I will probably upload some more videos of new stuff which is still to be added.
Currently the only thing not completely created by me is the TGA-loader (to pixel byte array), the water and grass textures and the engine sound.
