négre is a very offensive expressions, the word alone is to blame. But y can use it to qualify people who help writter (they writte their idea), its the only good way to use it. By the way trou du q http://league.btanks.net/player.php?playerid=10116 (= trou du cul) mean asshole (more vulgar than asshole)

If the word "nègre" alone can be something else than offensive, like you mention (about writing), then the word alone is not to blame anymore...
Then, when we speak about "Art nègre" in french, it's also a correct way to use this word, so that makes at least two correct ways. So your "only good way to use it" leads people to be mistaken.
And trou du q is not more vulgar than asshole... because it MEANS litteraly asshole.
