Observer mode

It could be nice with an observer mode, cuz many want to see other players play. So any that agree with me that observers/referees would make the game better. Example if some new players would see other players play and learn from them, or something like that, or just see a pro match:P

i 100% agree with this statement. i think there's no way battle tanks should be without an observer mode unless it causes some kind of serious map errors. i can think of at least a dozen times in the last few months when we wanted observers withing clan bt. it would be such a nice new feature for me if it were added. also it might hasten popularity and competitiveness.

I think I recall suggesting this awhile ago and the problem was the map requires a computer player for the ai. AMIRITE?

There are replay. Fog is also disabled by default. I think that it is enough.

Obs-mode would be nice, currently the only possibility is to use ghostbot, swap with one of the forces and don't give any commands, which is rather bad as it can be easily abused.

Creating an observer mode is wasted effort in my opinion. Replays are much better for analyzing different situations and strategies. My strategy to learn from better players is getting my ass kicked and analyzing why it happened afterwards. :lol:
And who of you would honestly sit in front of his pc and watch a BTanks game without the possibility of skipping uninteresting parts? I wouldn’t.

maybe some one would want to make a battle tanks amv for this websight and youtube using observer mode. not me, too much work, but maybe some one else? i know you could do it from just a replay but watching a replay that was e-mailed to you just isn't as fun as actually watching the game when it's happening.

There is a big different in being there or just watching it. My point with referees is that they also can enjoy the match while writing and talking to the players.

Thx for the nice replys, but i just believe that there is a big different when watching the match after it´s finish, and being at the match while it´s playing

It´s about being there and having fun with the players. U can´t do that in a replay. Am i right?

I did´nt mean to make some of the old slots to referee slots, but make +2 more slots, so the game will have total of 12 players in as max.

10 players. 2 referees. perfect:D

You realise having 14 player slots in warcraft 3 is technically impossible?

Only solution to the problem of not being able ot have observers is to change the -afk command so that the screen does not lock with the menu. Obs dont have to worry about afiai taking over every 5mins. Even then, it would only work where both teams have agreed on obs and each team has even number of obs.

Another solution would be to change how the 5min afk ai works, could make it a toggleable command switching it off/on with -awayai so it wont be a problem in organised games.

The easiest solution is just to make a special observer mod. When player choose it in custom game. the players 5 and 10 become observers and get a pilot, are considered as removed from the game (so it would not affect gold distribution)
