Re: Saving up for a frost? - jonjon - 2009-12-27 qweqqweq Wrote:jonjon perhaps your whole arguement is too well articulated and poinent so much so that you don't even see how fundamentally ridiculous it is? Even if the other team had "a lot of hunters and goblin tanks", the Frost tank isn't a bad choice. But why are you suggesting that it takes that many to beat a Frost tank as if it has to come to that scenario for you to choose Sky? My argument is simple. It's not about Frost being an overused tank. It's about other tanks not being used at all. There are 24 tanks. Let's not skip to the 20th tank at (what it seems to be currently on Normal Mode) the 20 minute mark. On 5k HB mode I believe it's 15 with a full set of Ice Cannons (could be quicker now). Although I haven't played on US West recently. I can't find the Aussie bot around. On a related note, I was glad when they put the armor restriction on Infernal (a few dozen versions ago) because everybody started saving for that instead. A full built Sky Tank couldn't do shit to an Infernal with nothing. You could sell all your weapons, hulls and your tank for an Infernal. Gain all your weapons back easily with multikills from your special. It was only 15k as well lol. What you suggested about a dynamic armor requirement would be a nice idea. Make people do the research on what is available. I'm all for that. Re: Saving up for a frost? - qweqqweq - 2009-12-30 i was just making an example to help better illustrate a point. i think you're reading a little too much into what i write. oh, and your point that you're not arguing that the frost tank is overused but only that the other ones are under-used is very funny to me! ![]() Re: Saving up for a frost? - jonjon - 2009-12-31 qweqqweq Wrote:i was just making an example to help better illustrate a point. i think you're reading a little too much into what i write. I'm not saying that it isn't. It's just not a big deal as opposed to tanks that are being underused. The availability of Frost Tank makes a lot of players scared to even consider Sky or Demon Tank. Re: Saving up for a frost? - qweqqweq - 2009-12-31 if a teamate of mine got frost already i won't get it, if i was going for frost i'll get demon instead in that case since i can just piggyback on their slow aura. demon's not bad for 3k less imo. the problem of frost tank being overused and all other tanks near that price range not being uesd much is the same problem, isn't it? hahaha! ![]() Re: Saving up for a frost? - jonjon - 2009-12-31 qweqqweq Wrote:if a teamate of mine got frost already i won't get it, if i was going for frost i'll get demon instead in that case since i can just piggyback on their slow aura. demon's not bad for 3k less imo. No, because Frost is the cause. Under used tanks is the problem. They are both part of the same issue. Re: Saving up for a frost? - qweqqweq - 2010-01-03 how the hell can u blame the frost as the cause of the problem and not the other tanks? if they were cheaper or better than they'd be used more then would you consider them to be the cause? lol i'm not convinced you're making any sense. i still think it's a convenience issue due to the armor requirements Re: Saving up for a frost? - jonjon - 2010-01-04 qweqqweq Wrote:how the hell can u blame the frost as the cause of the problem and not the other tanks? if they were cheaper or better than they'd be used more then would you consider them to be the cause? lol Yes, it's more of a extended requirements issue than a Frost issue. Unfortunately Frost is a scapegoat in all of this. So... Extended requirements is the cause. Under-used tanks is the problem. Does that make any more sense to you? And to that other post regarding Frost Reqs... During the time when Frost had requirements, the Demon tank's Banish skill was effective against ground and air. In fact Demon Tank had a really good chance at beating Frost once upon a time. Then Frost was weakened and available again. But then Demon was nerfed as well. :| Re: Saving up for a frost? - newbcake3 - 2010-01-07 i agree, frost overpowered per requirements -- i think extended requirements should be a part of normal mode, is there even a justification of why its not? can anyone tell me why there are requirements for 3 tanks in normal mode and not 4? or 5? Re: Saving up for a frost? - eSVau - 2010-01-07 I would prefer -extended requirements als default setting ![]() It's kinda boring playing with or against people saving up for frost/sky tank/<insert other high hp tank here> with such strong weapons like a single multi bow ![]() Re: Saving up for a frost? - Althend - 2010-01-08 eSVau Wrote:I would prefer -extended requirements als default setting +1 Re: Saving up for a frost? - Battlemaniac - 2010-01-08 eSVau Wrote:I would prefer -extended requirements als default setting +1 vote to it i always add that on custom games, else it's too easy to afford huge tanks midway in game |
