Bob's SupCom Advanced Projectile System - TKF - 2009-07-31 Bob's Supreme Commander map has a revolutionary combat system which can be used for any other maps. The weapon system is simply the best in existence for warcraft III Now since battle tanks is being shutted down, maybe the original mapper bob666 can make a new battle tanks version, which is using the supreme commanders projectile system for combat. This idea is good I think because there's less armada battles and units in bt than in a supcom game. Also you can add new items like shield item which protects an area from attacks. Also anti projectile weapons which can counter weapons... You buy items in the same way as in battletanks, but in this battle tanks advanced you can stack a same weapon several times. Also you can choose your target to attack, which will be main difference from normal battle tanks. Or it can act like phönix fire... The projectiles is inaccurate, and you can have a aiming computer module which you can choose to improve for gold. This is as important as new tanks and more weapons. You can have amazing missile weapon which flies in trajoctery, direct projectile attacks, instant beams, artillery and much more.... I'm not sure what bob think about this and I don't know if he has time/want to? Re: Bob's SupCom Advanced Projectile System - SCorpA1 - 2009-08-01 he is working at his flight sim atm and he also stopped working on supcom to do this. i dont know if he is interrested Re: Bob's SupCom Advanced Projectile System - Bob666 - 2009-08-01 i stopped working on the flight sim, too ^^ it wasnt meant as a game from the beginning, and the basics are working, so i lost my interest in it instead i was testing some things for supcom: a building which can provide platforms in the ocean, where other buildings can be built on and where you can place units... swimming outposts, only needs some more time, but the basics seem to work so once this is finished, or even earlier, i will take a look into battle tanks again, probably. i already talked with exodus and played some bt games in the past days, so its not totally unlikely that i will work on it and about using the advanced projectile system: first, i think it could make the game lagg, because there actually are a lot of creeps in the game permanently fighting, most likely they would have to be reduced. i would also like that projectiles in a bt map, however, it would be lots of work and cause heavy balancing issues, so i tend to improve the old battle tanks instead. another reason is, that i doubt that players will like it, because its performance costly however, if there are a lot of people here liking the idea, then i will definetaly think about it for those who dont know that projectile system: http://supcom.btanks.net/ by the way, in general i would like to see a map with that projectile system being popular, balanced, and more warcraftish than my supcom map, because most people arent interested in supcom, but the engine could be used for anything. Since Exodus is moving on to something else, Bob 666 is the only one who can continue the legacy of Btanks and making it better than before would be incredible. I like big changes a lot, even if the current version is ok, I can't wait to see something different ![]() Fingers crossed Re: Bob's SupCom Advanced Projectile System - TKF - 2009-08-17 Well first he has to rework the system which is incompatible with 1.24. Same reason why Supreme Commander no longer works. Maybe he should wait until 1.24b arrives, cuz that patch has some major changes which could make the 1.24 maps incompatible with 1.24b and older maps playable again to some extent. Exodus may have to make a counter fix again cuz the 1.24b patch reverses some changes done by the 1.24 and could make the current version unplayable. It depends which of the changes blizzard is going to revert and fix. And if he's going to implement such system into battle tanks, I suggest he make a parallel version, in other words continue ordinary battle tanks as it is with phönix fire and make Battle Tanks Advanced with his projectile system.
