Gains extra 10% hp of target tank and a random ability from target tank (including passive abilities and tank cannon) replaces with this ability for duration. Allies and enemies can be targeted as well. If it targets itself, it will not gain 10% hp but will get an ability called "Water Cannon" which is same ability with "Water Nova" with only single direction. Speed is reduced by 30 for duration. (Extra hp is added to Max hp of Hydro Tank and hp percentage remains, when this spell ends, Max hp is scaled to normal and percentage remains.) This ability cannot be canceled. I was wondering though: would the Reform ability keep you at the same percentage of current health, or would it heal you completely so you have full hp? Re: Hydro Tank - Princess_Bob - 2009-04-25 Interesting, I really like the idea of the splash ability. Could be interesting, although a 20 second cool down at level 5 might be too little. Times can always be tweaked, but I like the abilities, this would be a fun one to play with Re: Hydro Tank - horselance - 2009-04-25 I made some typo faults... And fixed them.. Its hp remains as percentage and max hp is increased. Ex: it has 11k hp max and 5k hp now (45%), it reforms demon as 10k > +1k hp. It now has 12k max hp and 5454 hp (45%). I mistyped Splash cooldowns. It should have been 30sec at lvl5. Maybe 30 is little cooldown too. Gotta see it in battlefield to judge... Re: Hydro Tank - bobbob247 - 2009-04-25 The only issue I see is the fact that once you bought this tank, you wouldn't need to buy a different one for a long time. Take someone else's Titan, and you have more HP than a normal Titan for 1/2 the time. This tank is also quite luck based, you could disable someone's frost laser, or you could disable 2 bonfires, Etc. Splash just seems a bit like Exploder's reconstruction: Too powerful to be left up to luck. Re: Hydro Tank - horselance - 2009-04-25 Quote:Its hp remains as percentage and max hp is increased. Not 110%..if you turn a titan, your hp will be >> "Your normal hp + 2500 extra hp" for duration. Your hp does not go up to titan. So you will need another tank later. ![]() Yea, splash can block a good item or a bad one or an empty slot.. It depends on luck. But if enemy got a frost lazer, i think it must be time to change tank. ![]() If you are lucky, you block speed pack, power pack so enemy cant tp out / reduce hp etc... Re: Hydro Tank - qweqqweq - 2009-04-26 there's some really good ideas here. but does exodus have some ideas of his own he's been working on? i sort of wish that exodus would direct us players on what he wants help with ideas on more. 99.9% of all you guys's suggestions seem to never make it into the map. exodus just can't do it! there's no way he'd ever have the time to do it all. don't blame him. even i don't get 1/3 of all my suggestions into the map and i never know what exodus will go for or not. i'm a mapper and a player but that's not important. (so is horselance). i think what we need to konw is what exodus is looking for. at least for special ideas anyways. i think a good clue as to what exodus is going to implement next is necessary for us to have a more positive impact. and on a side note, it would be nice to know what other maps exodus has looked at in his map editor. i'm curious if he's checked out btanks mg, reflections, dota template, risk, and kill the mofo! (my stupid map, although i worked very hard on it for a long ass time) if i knew more of his mapping knowledge i could better understand what he's going to go for. Re: Hydro Tank - Exodus - 2009-04-26 Well, tank concepts are kind of special. I can't exactly say what I'm looking for. Sometimes I have the feeling that a suggestion just isn't special enough to justify a new tank (which obviously isn't the case here), sometimes it's the fact, that a suggestion doesn't fit into BT. Some suggestions, or skills, are too complex too implement or the work would just be too much (in this case it's the ultimate). In some cases I only like a specific skill, which probably would make it into the map. It's difficult to say what I'm looking for. I want new tanks to be unique, but not too complex. I don't like using some kind of skill over and over again (like fan of knives-based skills or Jet Propulsion, tank cannon being the exception). It also happens quite often, that I already have a vague idea of what the next tank could be like and I tend to disregard suggestions, which won't fit into this idea. I know that this is kind of unfair, since you don't know what I'm looking for. But when looking for new ideas I often take a look at old suggestions. Well, I could start by saying what kind of vague idea I'm having at the moment. I thought about a new air starter tank. Costs around 1500 (+-300 gold). I also have two requirements to his concept. This tank should be a supporter type and have some kind of skill, which gives him an advantage over long range tanks. As this seems quite difficult, I couldn't come up with a satisfying skill set. This doesn't mean you only have to make suggestions for this specific tank, but maybe it helps ;) But even so, the amount of suggestions, which will make it into the map, will always be very low. This process of suggesting, tweaking and imlementing is kind of difficult and hard to discribe. But maybe you got a rough idea of how I'm doing things. Re: Hydro Tank - Dr.McNinja - 2009-04-26 What about taking parts of suggestions? thats why i stay away from complete tank suggestions with skills, skill values, cd etc... I would suggest tank ideas and ability ideas, concepts etc.. but ive only got one tank suggestion and its not a serious one, but you might find something useful. Shouldnt the dev team be sorting out ideas and stuff for you? What exactly does the dev team do if not their description? Re: Hydro Tank - horselance - 2009-04-26 Quote:(in this case it's the ultimate) Now i checked out and seen there is no simple way to change unit model directly. And also same for Max Hp. Needs stuffy triggers etc. I thought there is a function to change unit model thats why i suggested this abilty that way. I also know that some things are not possible and some things are too hard to be made. So now that i saw it is not possible to be made that skill that way, here is new one: [R] Adaptate (Active) Hydro Tank takes one random ability from target tank. Level of ability is set to 5 and remains until duration expires or Hydro Tank dies. Taken ability is replaced with this ability. Level 1: 30 sec Level 1: 40 sec Level 1: 50 sec Level 1: 60 sec Level 1: 70 sec Re: Hydro Tank - qweqqweq - 2009-04-26 in my map i was able to do unit model change with different abilities for a certain time with triggers. bruce banner would get angry and turn into the hulk after 10 allied units died in a certain aoe around him. then after 1 or 2 minutes he would change back. it worked perfrectly as far as health percentage, xp gain, and item switching, except that sometimes when the replacement unit's timer ran out it dissapeared and then the original never reapeared. lol. i never could figure out why it did that sometimes. if exodus could figure out the bug he might be able to use the skill for the ultimate you describe. Re: Hydro Tank - Dr.McNinja - 2009-04-27 Can you say Morphling?!^^ Which means i like your idea but dont think it fits in with btanks in its current form. Squish is a strange name. It could be fun and it seems simple enough skill to create. Although my alternative idea to pure random chance is: • Exponential or increasing MS as the tank moves in a straight line for longer. Allow some change in direction (very small change) if possible. Turning the tank will reset this skill's effects. So, the longer a tankw walks in a fairly straight line, the faster it gets. This will force concious consideration of terrain and strategies in using the terrain (not just +MS). Well planned ambushes or attacks will be rewarded with a lot of bonus MS where the hydro tank has launched from the best and uninterrupted piece of land to its' target, making best use of straight land. • Become dependant on another skill/s, in the way of razormoar's (or whatever hes called, the pig) passive is based on how many times he casts a spell in the past 10 seconds, stacking up to X number of times. Bonus ms could come from how much 'water' is in the tank, determined by this other skill. • Based on mana. This will severely affect other skills and generally how the tank works. This can go three ways: - percentage %chance of occuring - the amount of bonus +MS - the duration of such bonus ms Water Nova & Reform Water Nova: Too basic. No skill should share art with a weapon - hunter's ult is fairly small and doesnt matter i suppose. Plasma waves is fairly commonly used. Reform: This would be going into the crazy area of btanks and would need a lot of work before it fits into bt. Perhaps it just doesnt fit in. These are really ports of morphlings ultimate and signature skill. Re: Hydro Tank - horselance - 2009-04-27 Quote:Too basicYes. Thats the point. It does not exist in game and too basic. What else would you want from a skill? ![]() I changed my Reform idea to Adaptate. Check it out. ![]() |
