hi,
until 14 level def armor, you dont need upgrade for better tanks but if upgrade requirement has taken (custom mode), here, you have to upgrade or wait level 10 for demon in example.
For upgrade armor or weapons creep, the shop is behind the front of the 2 lazers, in front.

That would be the Research Center (look like the blacksmith)
You only need tech for:
Recipes
Sky Fort (lv14 armor)
Infernal (lv16 armor)
Titan (lv23 armor)

that means if normal mode, the higher tank is frost tank only can be use.
if custom mode, the higher tank is infernal tank.
i got test in custom mode, but cant get titan tank,
how to get it? it show required armor

in normal mode u can use frost without upgrade needed, only for 14 (big bird), 18 (infernal), and 23 def armor (titan).
