I'm sick of troops spam from factories -.- - TKF - 2008-08-08
I played many games in a row, where then enemy uses factory tactic. I'm pretty sick of this, so is it possible to add a no factory option in the custom game selection, and a -nf command?

maybe in the -nf command mode bombs should also be disabled since they take out buildings to easily and in this mode factories would be even less expenable than ever.

It's just a mode which disables the purchase of factories, normally this feature is allowed and it's only available in the custom selection feature!
It's just like you can disable trader, exploder, upgrades and tinkers.

I like this idea tkf, would be a good new mode. -nf sounds good, but maybe a team could still build up to three factories when theirs start getting destroyed.

I'm surprised anybody even voted no - it would be just an option though
And I reccomend setting it default in tinker only. I've just played a game in TO mode and it reeeally suxed... +3 factories on each side and you are FLOODED. No game ending possible as there are no tanks. Towers die almost right away.

I'm not planning to implement this feature. I can change something regarding the factories to improve balancing, but just adding an option to disable them is too easy and it won't make the situation any better. I mean, what happens when you join a game where the host refuses to use this option and you are playing again against a player who is using factories? Then it's just the same as before.
But I'm open for suggestions on how to change the factories and their spawns.

But i would host and like this option, cuz most of the game, i personally doesn't like this factory tactic and sometimes wishes for a "off" switch. This might cripple the trader standard tactic, but trader can instead focus harder on mines, upgrades and orbital.
I only wishes for a troop free games sometimes...
What if:
What if standard fab 2k, no spawn. (no limit)
You can upgrade it for 2k, 5 troop production (limit 3)

What's up with the major complain about Factories??? First of all, factories allow to finish games without taking ours. When you badly ourskill your opponent, bringing a factory by their base allows you to finish up the game in 5 to 10 minutes...
No factories... have fun, the game will drag all the way into infernal state 9 out of 10 games that are over at demon stage.
Also, the factory issue is more present in the games where there are traders... just disable traders instead :p
Finally, I really don't think factories are rigged as they are easily obtainable by both teams and that 1 factory with no upgrades early on has 0 impact on the game.

To be honest, I liked it when the factories didn't spam creeps at all. 2k fabs and heal. That's why my favorite version is 8.15.
Instead, it replaced the troop commands role. Factory is the new troop command now. If you played 8.15, factories there didn't produce 5 creeps every 20 sec. Troop command is pretty useless now, the creeps die after 20 sec. Why not make it 25 sec?

Factory spawns can be as troop commander and live for 20 sec. This will stop spam i think.
