Somes techs by Atlhend vol2: The range - Althend - 2008-01-11



The range is really important for your strategy. People may say that it is the most important.
Try to keep the same kind of range for all your weapons!
Difficulty:
Middle range: easy to use
Long range: easy to use
Extra long range : a bit harder if you want to get kill.
Low range: need a bit more skill.


1/ Extra long range
It is much more useful for weak tank as tinker or air tank. You have to get the nice position in order to hit properly the enemy tank. Always stay away of the range of your enemy. It is a nice way in order to get the title : survivor.

Advantages :
- easier to escape.
- hit and run attack is easy to do. (but less effective than simple long range because people usually don't try to run after extra long range)
- People are usually afraid of you

Disadvantages:
- weakest damage
- extra large spread of the damage, the probability of hitting an enemy tank is really low. High range mean more creep to hit.
- you must always but extra long / long range weapon
- if someone get close of you, you will die.


2/ Long range
It doesn't need a lot of skills. It is more a choice of security.
Aim the short range tank and stay out of their range. You are the the best choice against them.

Advantages:
- Easy to escape
- hit and run is really easy to do and is effective.
- you are the best against me.

Disadvantages:
- weak damage
- large spread
- keep the same range or ad extra long range, don't take low or middle range for you new weapon.

3/ Middle range
The most usual: Ideal for basic play, no need of special ability. Noob weapon Hahahha!

Advantages:
- you don't have to follow a particular strategy.
- you can choose a new range after seeing the enemy 's ranges. Middle weapon is easy to couple with long and short range. It is the most balance weapon.

Disadvantages:
- No special advantages of tech in order to kill your enemy.


4/ Low range
My favorite tech!
It is a pure offensive way of playing (and fast way to be killed)
The rule is simple: kill the other before they kill you. Stay always near your allied creeps. Aim enemy tanks and tower! The high amount of damage/sec is your priority. Purchasing the teleport is really useful.
The better in order to get the title: Tank killer.

Advantages:
- Highest damage
- Really low spread against creep.
- Easy to aim and enemy tank, just stay the closest of him
- The best in order to kill enemies in a short amount of time.
- Really useful in order to take control of a fabric. Enemies will teleport in your rangeBig Grin

Disadvantages:
- Long and extra long range are really dangerous against you. never follow them if they are running far away from you.
- Hard to defend from a control point. You have to get close in order to kill enemies.
- Coupling it with a long range weapon is really idiot.
- You may die often
- Hard to run away when you see that some enemies appear.

Thats really nice, maybe you can also add some weapons as examples to each point.

I would add a disadvantage to low range..
I don't think it's very good for creepingTongue
As long as you attack them,they can attack you as well.
With middle range ++ you can pull the creeps and they have no chance to get youTongue

Nah, with low range you just have to move up to the creeps when they are fighting each other and kill them fast. I mean, the bow, the first creep weapon has a low range too.... Shouldnt be too difficult imo. (and if by low range you mean 600, then i would like to see you not being able to creep with flamethrowerSmile )

I don't think it is a real disadvantage against creep. The high firepower end them easily.
And it has been written that low range may make you die often.
