Nerf the Ghost Tank? - Gnome007 - 2007-11-06 The ghost tank may need to be nerfed some. Its life shipon and its ability to gain health from dead creeps and players make almost impossible to kill sometimes. For example if a goblin tank or heavy tank uses its area of effect attack on the ghost tank, the ghost tank may hardly be affected because it regains so much health from the dead creeps around it. Im just trying to get someone to look at this and get some more opinions. Please look in to this and get back to me guys. But keep in mind that this tank only has one skill that does direct damage to an enemy (also a target channeling ability, you can't really call it a nuke). This tank is more passiv than others. But if you (and the other users of this forum) still feel that he's too strong I still can do something about it. It's quite odd when it capture a CP and gets triple kill and multikill cuz it gains huge amount of hp for killing tanks. It can use troops for it's own protection and heal when they die. I think the healing part when it's killing a hero should be nerfed, cuz it usually gains far above 1000 hp each time, and it's level 10 enemy ghost tank always seems to level that skill. (Perhaps 250-350 hp pr level for killing hero). Re: Nerf the Ghost Tank? - Gnome007 - 2007-11-07 the main problem i find is that when a ghost tank summons its ghost and a troop command it becomes almost temporarily invinsible. u cant target it for serious damage without hero only weapons, and when u kill the creeps(by fighting or by area of effect spell) around it so u can target it, it is healed back to full health. After all this your tank is probly hurting some but you can finally attack the ghost tank so you try to stay in for a few seconds more. Then the ghost tank uses it life siphon and is heal fully again while your tank is only getting damaged more. also although the ghost tank only has one spell it can use to attack other tanks, i find that the majority of damge in this game is caused by weapons not spells. so only having one attack spell dosnt seriously hurt the ghost tank. Re: Nerf the Ghost Tank? - Gnome007 - 2007-11-07 DerSatan mentioned the heavy tanks attack in comparison to the ghost tank. im continueing the comparison: Heavy Tank: cost-5500 lvl 5 rocket does 1500 dmg Ghost Tank: cost-4500 lvl5 life siphon does 400 dps for 5 seconds not only is that a better attack than a tank that cost 1000 more, this also heals 2000 hit points not to mention it also refills mana! so rely the ghost tank isnt exacly hurting in the way of spell fire power. Re: Nerf the Ghost Tank? - TKF - 2007-11-07 I don't find the life drain as a real problem, as you can move out of range to avoid further damage, which you can't do with heavy tank shot. Also it has to substain itself for 5 seconds while tank rocket is instant. But also the ghost tank gains life and mana with this skill. Probably that's why it costs 15mp pr level. Re: Nerf the Ghost Tank? - Bob666 - 2007-11-07 you even can stun it and the spell will be aborted... only the soul restore spell could be a bit too strong... but well, 50hp per creep on level 5, and he can have about 20 creeps around him if hes very lucky, then it would be 1000hp, which the rocket can deal with one shot... i think it does not have to be rebalanced Re: Nerf the Ghost Tank? - Batto - 2007-11-07 True, and if he stays with that tank till he is lv 20-25 so that he can upgrade the ultimate to lv 5, he has earned it and will need it vs the sky tanks, frost robots,... Re: Nerf the Ghost Tank? - Gnome007 - 2007-11-08 i highly encourage all of you to actualy try using the ghost tank and playing against it a few times. unless you have some experiance with and against this tank its stupid to say it doesnt need to be nerfed. im just saying this because i know the ghost tank is rarly used. when one of the members of my clan started using the ghost tank in our in house games all of the members of our clan agreed that it was to overpowering and we banned the ghost tank for being used in in house games. TRY USING AND PLAYING AGAINST THE GHOST TANK A FEW TIMES BEFORE YOU DECIDE IT DOSNT NEED TO BE NERFED! Less drain? to nerf it you could do severl differnet things. i think the best solutions would either be decrease soul collector some or a price raise. one way u could decrease soul collector that i think may definatly solve the problem with the ghost tank and troop command combo is to make soul collector only gain health from enemy units. i going to go play a game or two more with it before i decide what i really think the best solution is. Re: Nerf the Ghost Tank? - thunderingice - 2007-11-08 obviously im going to say going use the tank like gnome did, umm i dont know what to do with it ability wise my thought is if it can match or be slightly stronger than tanks that are worth more than it it probably ought to be worth more; umm for you who says get out of range u try having to get out of range when you trying to fight, disengaging sorta suks in general. i know about the stun thing. still practically are you really going to not use your ability and if youre going the other way u hav to turn around to fire the stun which takes like 1-2 secs thats some guaranteed damage and just a thought on the damage of the life siphon, the tank is getting hp bak so it causes more like a 4000 damage difference between u and the other tank if its left untouched. the life drain isnt a huge threat at early lvls but once u get it to 4 u can take hp from a heavy at a cp faster than it gets it life bak and that is while there are creeps around to take weapon fire damage. i dont think the biggest threat of the soul collector is immediate stuff though it is very nice, its a long range threat if you stay near the middle u get a very nice average hp repaired per sec. think about how much gold it takes to buy the equivalent item. on the other hand i also happen to think that its ult suks it seems nice but it has very little practical value, i lvl it last. healing is kinda weak in general. idk i just know that the ghost tank is pretty strong and that i would trust it over a heavy in most situations and the heavy is usually my go to tank so im not a noob in it.
