a decision about game schedule - olivercamel - 2012-02-21
As someone may already noticed, a while ago in this post I announced the game schedule for all Round 1-3 (i.e. which team vs. which team)

Game_D05: BeSh vs. Trollforce (round 3)
Game_D06: Revoltek vs. WH3B (round 3)When making the schedule for the 3 rounds, without thinking too much, I did it in this way for all 4 groups:
Round 1: strong team 1 vs. normal team 1; strong team 2 vs. normal team 2
Round 2: strong team 1 vs. normal team 2; strong team 2 vs. normal team 1
Round 3: strong team 1 vs. strong team 2; normal team 1 vs. normal team 2
But after some thinking I noticed a problem for this arrangement. Based on the results of Round 1, most strong team can win a game agains a normal team. (only bug's game was draw).
So if we keep doing this for the Round 2, many strong teams could already recevie 2 wins, and many normal teams 0 win after the Round 2.
In this case, the 3rd round game which strong vs. strong, normal vs. normal will become less fun/exciting. Because no matter how is the result between 2 normal teams, both strong teams will go up anyway to next phase.
Therefore I am thinking to make an important decision => switch round 2 and round 3 games.
It means in Round 2 (strong vs. strong + normal vs. normal), and Round 3 (strong vs. normal + storng vs. normal)
In this case the rank of a group will be even harder to forsee, and all teams have to take care of the 2nd round and the 3rd round more seriously.
I think this would be a right thing to do. And it benifits mostly for the normal teams.
p.s. I don't think this would benifit team bug (the one i am in), because next round if we lose to anal-elite, and if Boozers wins TBBK (just an example), in the last round team bug will have a lot pressure. (we must win tbbk and hope boozers loses to anal-elite).
But still i want to hear opinions from everyone, if there is no strong against we will do this.

This is a very good idea. However this also means that the loser of any of the normal vs normal team matches is basically a garunteed elimination though.
