Without looking at it, I'll say: Burst Armor can't block, if the damage is higher than you max HP (which is most likely what happened to you, right?)
This is because of the way the blocking mechanism works. Instead of reducing the damage (which does not work through triggers directly), you'll get healed to negate the damage. But if the damage is higher than your max hitpoints, the tank dies before you can heal the hitpoints. There is no realiable way that I know of, which would solve this problem.

Why then before this game Burst Armor blocked a damage at game by a tinker (without hull)??
Or it dreamed me?
