Corrupt save files on version 8.73 - JakarandaPanda - 2011-04-06
Whenever we play a network game on v8.73 and save it to continue later the save files seem to become corrupt and will not load. When loading the game it throws out the following error: "There was an error trying to load the save game. The save file is unavailable or corrupted."
When you click on 'OK' the program ends and you have the below error in Windows:
This application has encountered a critical error:
FATAL ERROR!
Program: c:\games\warcraft iii\war3.exe
Exception: 0xC000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 0023:02B73C20
The instruction at '0x02B73C20' referenced memory at '0x000000FC'.
The memory could not be 'read'.
Press OK to terminate the application

Well, the big question: Is it a map-bug or a wc3-bug?
I've never saved a bt game and tried to continue later.
Did it work with older versions?

AFAIK it has never worked to continue a saved game, some important triggers are corrupted after loading. A fatal error is new to me

On the older versions the save files did work, the only problem then was that you couldn't see the count down when capturing a control point. On the new version you can't load the game at all

you may call it an unknown feature then. afaik the map wasn't intended to be loadable.
