Why do you play HB?!

High Bounty is the most popular and used mode.

Options 1, 2 and 3 do not have to be stated, simply tick them. We are all guilty of it some time or other.

For me:

► Fast paced action is the name of the game, normal simply isnt fast enough to keep me entertained
► Despite its imbalances, having decent opponents in a noob game mean you both "exploit" "imbalances" leading to a fairly balanced game. HB is not broken.
► Its easier to play. You dont have to concentrate as hard as you do in normal to play well. People who have played only a few games can do fairly well and i like this.

Everytime i add options to the poll, it resets. So im not going to bother with a poll for all the reasons why you play HB mode.
Faster paced does NOT equal shorter game.

• Showing 'public noobs' how imbalanced HB is

The only reason i play HB is to show those public noobs how unbalanced this option is - the gap between good and worse players just increase.

I usually play with 5k hb or normal. Depends who is the host or what mode people want. If I play with bot and I'm red I ask what mode people want and I always hear 5k hb so I just take it to make them happy. I wanted to pick rush one time and people say "no rush sucks. Take 5k hb" so I just choose hb.
I also like 5k hb because its faster to play. I hear all the time that hb is unbalanced because new weak players use range and are as same good as pro players but I still usually own them. They are only really good if all of them are rangers and they stick together - that really pisses me of sometimes because I only see rangers.If you go with a teammate against them you just take them one by one and thats there weak spot - specialy in public games. With my tactics I usually get fast gold and defeat rangers at the start also. After a few minutes I'm much stronger then they are so they just lose.
Also with 5k hb is easyer to play. I like 5k hb sometimes more then normal.

In fact, I found most HB games take longer than the usual hour it takes for a normal game.
Money is getting in good in defence and you actually can afford wasting it on factories.
The common good HB game (with balanced team and nice players) is 2-5 hours for me! Yes I had such long games!
Everyone had Titan and 3-5 Frostlasers then
Or base packed with frost lasers, that had my roommate, they decided to not play any longer!

I make it like Esvau.

I always join Hb mode and play against host.

And always after 30min the host leaves when i hae 40:4 or 35:7 stats with imba Longrange and Demon tank.

So i massacre them.

But its sad Hb mode only produce bad players.

The common good HB game (with balanced team and nice players) is 2-5 hours for me! Yes I had such long games!

Hmm 2-5 hours? Well thats really long games. When I play battle tanks 5k hb I usually play only 1 hour and sometimes meybe 40 min - 80 min but never over 2 hours.
I played with league players and it was already longer but it wansn't still over 2 hours. If I remeber it was 90 min.
How do you get those long games ?

i guess they play hb because, they get pwnd in normal and hb games, but in hb even faster, and thats the important thing, i think

Agreed with frechheit, playing hb (only) wont get people very far. I know i got a lot better when i played normal for a while and some friends of mine also play normal every now and then for this reason.

But damn people, ive only got 2 reasons so far - fast paced seems to be winning. Faster paced = more adrenalin which can mean more fun. People want to rush out and pwn or get pwned.

I choose the same Opion like Frechi and eSVau. Pwn noobs, because gap of good and bad players is even bigger in this mode.
Sometimes I want to play BT and only find HB--> this is why I play it like the Option in my first sentence :mrgreen:

Most of the time to make host leave because he gets powned so fast with hb...

Guys, I figured out why HB is popular. HB is a more balanced end-game.

If you actually survive for an hour, under HB mode you will start getting 3k per kill. Even a crappy player can save for Titan and fight back.

I think there's 2 things that makes HB popular:

1. "I can beat up on noobs and dominate with a 34-5 record while my team fails around me."
2. Deliriously wealthy endgame for all players.

Im pretty sure that everyone agrees - HB = get gold faster = get items faster (faster paced) is the main reason its so often played and hosted.

Pretty much. Might add that the games are also usually shorter then in Normal, for me anyways.

I went with the first option: "Because people host HB games (friends, clan, public, etc)" but I dont see much difference between that one and the last.
Lately it's been about 50/50 between HB and Normal for me but thats probably cause of 8.61b

What I'm really wondering about is if people are actually seeing that much difference in outcome between Normal and HB games since I usually dont. If you would have the same players play a 5k HB game and one Normal I think the outcome would be pretty much the same.

Might add that I prefer Normal over HB since I enjoy when your choice of tank and weapons is more important and the strategical choice of countering someone has a larger effect.

I like HB because things happen so fast you have to think quickly to very different situations on the go, with no time to breathe. Usually. Like keeping tabs on what the enemy is doing, whether you'll go back to base or heal, etc.. It all happens very fast and keeping track of 9 other players where things change so fast, it makes hb quite hectic.

Partly due to 'imbalances' which you are free to 'exploit' as well as the fact enemies can 'exploit' it too making it harder to counter. Many times ive pwned my lane for 5-10 mins only to go to another lane and get pwned/lose because i didnt watch one of them get overpowered. I also like playing HB because enemies can easily beat my team if i let them, creating an awesomely fun challenge. You can get this kind of challenge in normal (and its not fun playing on the weak side in normal).
