I typically use the sell tank to cash in my old tank, before buying a new one. I'm pretty sure many people already do this in normal games. This can save several minutes of farming. I don't see any good reason why you wouldn't want this. When you sell your tank, I was thinking you could get your tank captain back (without random, of course).

This sounds like a great idea to me.

if you want to buy a better tank and you buy a tinker first because you dont have enough money yet you will get half of the old tanks value back.
in "no tinker" you will get the pilot back, when buying the tinker, i think there is a message like "you cannot buy this tank in "no tinker""

I can see where youre coming from. I think there isnt any problem with it, only it could be 'slightly more helpful' done through: Adding "Sell Tank" text in addition to the Tinker.
With basic maths you can deduce how much money you really need for whatever tank you are getting. When you play a few games, Tinker = sell tank in your mind or should. I see beginners being possibly confused by the tinker and how to sell their tank being the worst possible scenario.
A method that i assume you would want (or could be talking about entirely) is a sell button that automatically tells you your tank sellback amount. So the button would say 500 if you were helicopter, 7500 if you were frost bot etc. I believe this would be unnecessary..

Ah, didn't know buying a tinker to sell your tank still works in no tinker mode.
Never mind this thread then.
