It'd be cool if you could have a total 9 factories at any given time. So that when some of your base's factories are destroyed, you could replace all of them with player factories, and still have 3 extras. Perhaps that would be too powerfull for that one player having all the income. Maybe a max of 9 and a max of 3 per player. That way you could replace your entire base with 2 players, and have 3 extras with a 3rd player.

thats wt im thinking
a trader with 3 factories mid is pretty hard to handle (least i think so). now u are saying that we are allowed 9 factories??! Confusedhock:

Actually, I don't think the number of creeps would be a problem, since all he's suggesting is the ability to replace up to 6 factories and still be able to build three extras. As far as I can tell, he is not suggesting being able to build 9 more factories while still having all 6 of your original factories still in your base.

(Correct me if I'm wrong in my interpretation, Icono, so I can avoid making a fool out of myselfBig Grin)

That would completely imbalance creep upgrades since 1 would affect all factories.

so u meant a force can have up to 9 factories. wouldnt that make 2 many creeps crowding around a losing base if all 5 players buy a factory and put it near the tank factory? i think it would make it little hard to win...

I think that a losing team would not be able to keep 5 factories alive very long, since all the other factories would have to have been destroyed (I'm working under the assumption that if a team had already destroyed 5 factories the other would be gone too). Since they would be getting almost no money at this point I doubt they could do this more than once, and with a team this far gone it wouldn't have any effect on the outcome.

Bobguydude has it right... At any given point, you can only have 9 factories, 6 in the base, and 3 extras out of the base.

Consider this senerio.. The enemy pushes in your base and kills 2 of your base factories. You then manage to successfully push them out (perhaps the AI buys a titan without leaving the base). You should be able to replace the 2 that were lost in your base, and still purchase 3 more for outside the base. Perhaps you could make it so that you cannot build player factories in the base at all, but make the factories rebuildable like the towers are. That where there wouldn't be any weird clumping and it'd be much simplier to code.

hmm i think if a force facotry is destroyed, its downed forever and not replaceable with six extra own factorys. the only thing i could imagine, would be a upgrade, wich cause the force to rebuild a factory over a time (ca. 1min)

maybe its possible to make the factories from the force be rebuildable.

I mean if someone rebuilds a factory - the force get it back. (And the other team lose the addional income)
The more factories are destroyed the more expensive should the rebuilding be.

As suggestion how to creat this like the way its possible to build a tower - that means a ruin is nessesary - which you can upgreat into a factory again for your force.

it would be nice if there is also a building progress, so it can be destroyed before its finished

I think it was sometimes really difficult to destroy a force factory. if 4 fight in mid against 5 others and kill much players only to get some time for you destroying a base tower and a factory and then just by some upgrade or money rebuild it would make Battletanks not worth attacking the enemy base.

I got an intern game yesterday which could have been ended after about 1:30h, no enemy factories and good team. The problem was, that we couldnt defeat the weaponfactorie and because of much death even with the extra gold and no additional experience we couldnt defeat the enemy.

The game was nearly tied up and we thougth about a draw after 2:20h with titans and frost lasers. A lucky attack, where the enemys are about 40 seconds death was a really lucky end for us, but 1hour after a usual base with old design would have been destroyed.
If we now make even the base rebuildable, whene everyone got titan + packs +4 frostlaser we will see 2:30h games with no winner (Draw !!!). (and maybe you can even place player factories in the base while rebuilding force factories. What is not possible till now)
In one word - I dont like this idea Tongue

(dont tell me long games are not usual. They become usual to me right now in quite equal teams ^^)

with my suggestion of increasing the rebuilding cost the problem would not very long be...

first time you rebild 2k
second time you rebild 4k
third time ... 6k
fourth time ...
....

and if you think that you rebild a factory for 6k that the force get (and you get nothing therefore - except the reduction of the income of the enemy team ...) I think it wont be a big problem.

i too know game where the opposit is holding themself for a long time. But normaly they have to build again and again NEW factorys for 3,5k. Now i give them a chance to build other factories addional for much more gold? Is that really so unfair?!?!?

You could use a similar setup that is currently used for towers. Destroying a base factory leaves a large building crater that you have to rebuild, but it costs more - that way the replaced factory is always in the same place, and you can do funky restrictions like increased cost/rebuild or whatever - you would just need to be careful that the opposing team couldn't use it.

hm i think factories owned by players should increase their bounty.
when they are constructed ofcourse, the item "factory" already increases the bounty
