You aren't a noob! (OK, I get the point of this thread)
-Learn to play by playing against the bots, once you can survive well in the beginning, go onto bnet. -Stay behind your creeps, they will take fire for you -Buy weapons of a certain range area to gain an advantage at that range. -Make sure you have enough HP to survive for more than 0.01 seconds (buy a new tank or a hull) -Stick with your team to take a CP most effectively (and to not die as much) -Watch the minimap before trying to take a CP alone or with a group -If you have longer range than your opponent, try to stay out of their range while having them in yours. -Don't charge the enemy creeps unless your opponent is guaranteed to die in a short period of time -Buy a teleporter if you have short range weapons to get close to your enemies -Goblin Tank and Sky Tank are both tanks with powerful anti-ground abilities, be wary of them if you are a ground tank.

OK, bobbob got most of the ones I could think of so I'll just give the one that comes to mind right now. If your enemy rushes to buy a weapon such as the axe thrower or flak cannon early on because they think "it'll dominate you and there's nothing you can do about it" (actual quote, he almost cried when our entire team went for sky tanks after he bought an axe thrower), switch to a type of tank that cannot be targeted by that weapon. Because they spent all that gold on one weapon, if they can't hit you with it (in your new, probably more powerful tank) they don't stand a chance. Of course, the hidden tip in this is to not buy the weapons that only attack ground or air unless you know your enemy just spent most of their money on something else and has none left. So there, now anyone who reads this can counter the other people who read it. I'm very effective at making my net usefulness zero, aren't I?
You may notice that some of my posts are somewhat disconnected in their ideas and don't really flow that well. That's because my mind drifts around like a jellyfish in a strong ocean current. You just lost the game.

Hmmm i would have to rephrase that, but when i get flak or axe, i usually get bombs/aa.

I just mass one or the other then when I've forced everyone to something I can't target, I change tanks so I can target them again.

A smart team though in that case will try even out the number of air and ground tanks to try balance this

I really doubt there will be that much teamwork or consideration BUT that is incorrect, a smart team will go all ground or all air to invalidate one of my hero weapons.

Two quick tips about capping CPs:
if you're almost dying (or just being cautious) and there is a small posibility that one opponent could tp in before you complete, grab a reinforcement. they are both meatshield and firepower, very useful early on. if you've just entered the enemy cp, in the later game it's almost a must to buy a barricade. it has a LOT of hp, and the enemy will build it if you won't. however, as always, make sure you're not going in for a 1v3. barricades won't help you Another quick tip: in HB games, if you're playing shredder, it might be useful to buy net launcher if your enemy is a heli (particularly long-ranged). |
