Bot owners, disable your !votekick command

Bot owners, disable your !votekick command

too many people are abusing the "votekick" command to selectively kick players in game

WIth the default config the bot_votekickpercentage is set to 100%. So normally this shouldn't be a problem. Only Problem is when there is only one player left in one of the teams. The other team can kick him easily.

I've disabled the votekick on the league botsWink.

isn't the whole point of -votekick to selectively kick a player?

You can set the percentage in the config. If it's set to 100% and you have 10 players in game you need 9 yes votes, 5 players in game - 4 yes votes ...

Only problem is when there is only one player left in one team. Then the other team can kick this player and "win" the game easily.

exactly and people can vote behind the scene by messaging the bot directly

so the only time you know a player was kicked is when you see the message on screen "Player *name* was kicked by vote" and you like WTF !!!

been on a few games like that with obviously a group of people that knows each other in the same team, and selectively kicks all the best players from the enemy team.

I've been in many games where most of the team left and the last player won't leave despite the overwhelming odds. So my options are be a leaver, sit through a reletively short but pointless game, or votekick the remaining player away so the game can end quickly. How often is a game worth playing when you are the only player left?

I just got kicked from a Battle Tanks League game where there were 3 allies left and me. We were all positive score and winning, but then this asshole player Adamoos votekicks one of our allies who was doing good! His buddy votes !yes and so does one of the enemy team and he's dropped. Then he does the same to me!

This "feature" is completely ruining games!

Votekick should require everyone (or perhaps 90%) to be in agreement; and not voting should count as no so only problem players are kicked. I have seen times when others were simply too busy to notice they needed to vote !no prevent their friends from being kicked!

Furthermore, this asshole Adamoos should be kicked from Clan BTNK and banned from the bot.

AFAIK official Battle Tanks (league) bot's (bt-league1, bt-league2, btl-qualify and bt-beta) do not support !votekick, a ghost feature.

It's normal that btnk players kick each other.

Let's stick to discussing a solution, RaptorXI.

I propose the following solution:

1. We ask !votekick be removed from the Battle Tank League bot.
2. We ask that the 75% rule for leaving be raised to 90%. A 75% leaving reputation is not good enough and it will immediately rid us of the worst offenders, who should be forced to re-qualify.

Velocity2k Wrote:I've disabled the votekick on the league botsWink.

I personally discussed this with Velocity2k prior to posting on the forum. My point is clear, votekick is NOT fully disabled, it's enabled with a 100% vote percentage to carry.

Today I was kicked with 3 players left on my team including me, so votekick isn't fully disabled yet. Votekick is set to 100% vote percent. I describe the scenario here:

The 100% vote percent applied to my case because nobody voted no on the enemy team (it would help them anyway as I had a great record.) The asshole player (Adamoos) who initiated the kick was backed by 1 friend of his; and nobody else was left on our team.

Thus a 100% votekick was executed on a 2 to 0 vote and abused because not voting doesn't count as a "no". So a 100% vote percentage is not enough; not voting should count as a NO, and the percentage should be based upon all remaining players in the game, not just the ones who noticed and voted in time.

I hope this clears up your misunderstanding. If votekick was fully disabled which it is not as of my game today, typing -votekick [player] in a league game would result in nothing happening.

Velocity2k may decide to fully disable it now, or base the 100% vote on all remaining players and make not voting mean !no.

Am I the only one who thinks that !votekick (bot command) and -kick (map feature) are different things?

It is FULLY disabled as i already stated in this thread.

There are two kick commands.
1. the !votekick of the bots which is DISABLED.
2. the -kick command in the map which is still possible in 8.70

I see, the problem is not the bot then. Come to think of it I recall it was the -kick command, but it came to a vote. (My bad.)

This means there is nothing wrong with your bot and the solution lies in changing the map. I'll ask Paladon if he thinks a patch on the kick command is in order.

Thanks for the clarification gents!

You guys are a great help.

Now that you have determined my issue is with the -kick command, can you describe how it currently works in 8.70 ?

Is it the same as how a bot !votekick works?

What is the current settings of -kick in 8.70? (i.e. 100% votepercent? 75%, 50% of all players, no vote default=no)?
