I dont use banlist myself, because i do not host many games (only rarely when i cant find a game for a long time).

But i have a question about this sharing:

i know that someone put me on his banlist for the next reason:
- i bought troop command at start and went tinker in the mid. I was owning a little (like already well-known, with a little experience tc is imba) and suddenly my fellow teammate asked me to stop using my tc. Since it was early game, i wouldnt, because then i would not have any income and if i had to sell it and buy a weapon, i would loose 1250 and that is a large amount , especially at the start of the game. So he suddenly started to try and kick me. At first ppl wouldnt vote 'yes', because i tried to explain, but he kept annoying them with the kick-pop-up box , so eventually i was kicked. And banlisted.

Now, if you all start sharing, i might end up on everyones banlist and that wouldnt be a lot of fun to me as you might understand. So , is there anything i can do to avoid that? Other ppl must have had same kind of problem (disconnection errors, stupid hosts,.. all stupid reasons to get on a banlist) ... ?

in ma case i ban only ppl with are banlisted on other banlists with a customcomment, if there is only "leaver" then i give them a chance....

but you're right, if you got a ban on the wrong banlist then its like a global ban then

ty for this info. I logged on banlist.nl and searched on Batto to see how many who had uploaded bans of him.

@Batto: I have to terrible news for you - luckily they all are non approved bans, in other words not global ban so every banlist user can see you're banned.

Total: 15 bans
Blit2 - "Newb and useless feeder"
daddz - leaver (5*v5) on Northrend (08-2006)
DiF - leaver on (5v5*)|Murdok.'s host(00:34:51)|23-02-2007|
dodonike - leaver (5*v4) on Northrend (2007-03)
gregorinho - leaver (5v4*) on Northrend (2006-04)
kraster - leaver
Lahvac - FUCKING FRENCH LEAVER

molkeleb - banned for d/l
robychete - leaver (5*v5) on Northrend (2006-11)

Dont you believe me? Or are you mocking me? Its true you know, just like the other ban, only that one was for another stupid thing (if i remember, i will tell here) but thing is, both bans happened on the same day, so i was really pissed about some btank hosts that day!

I find it very strange cuz I never experienced this myself. In the games I played, kicked players didn't get banned cuz the players voted to kick them. kicking and banning is double punishment.

Ow, kicking and banning, i have seen that a lot, even when 1 player had left, host banned him and immediatly he asked all to kick a player on other team so it would be even again. After that player was finally kicked, he banned him too!! But yeah, i assure you it is true, i would never lie about it here!

That's cuz I'm haven't banned someone yet, I had 15 noob bans when I was new with banlist (with no description), so I deleted them. Now I recently have set the phrases with the text popping up and hotkeys. I think it set it properly now.

Well, seems like I banned you (Tribulation is my BNet nick, as is SturmDrang, I rarely use the latter one, actually just for playing with mates in the US, dunno why there even is a banlist.nl acc. for that BNet acc.) which could have happened for the following reasons: I ban players that get kicked for excessive feeding (if they are obviously incapable of learning from their mistakes), excessive insults/flaming, being afk for more than 10 minutes or so, etc, generally if they got kicked for their own faults. However, I do not ban people who got kicked to even out the teams or because some asshole on their team didn't like them for no apparent reason and managed to get them kicked. Also, I generally grant appeals if I am hosting, I usually give people a second chance, unless I marked them as incorrigible, which would apply to people insulting their adversaries' mother or something else that would lead me to believing that I don't wanna seem them in my games.
Plus, I gotta look through my bl and delete those old bans dating back years when I didn't use custom comments and did noob bans too
So, you're off the list, sorry if I should have banned you for some trivial reason.

Well, no harm done, i was only afraid that by sharing these banlists, that my 2 bans that i apparently have, would make it impossible for me to join any of your games. I must admit that sometimes i lagg, but that happens very rarely, so shouldnt be a problem. But thank you for removing the ban, hope we meet each other in a game together in the future!

Alright, yeah I thought about sharing the list with mates, mine has roughly 2,5k entries so far, but it really requires cleaning up before it makes sense to share it, so right now you shouldn't be on any public bl, at least not via my bl.

Only approved host create dangerous "permanent" bans, but I've not encountered one yet in a real game that has banned me or decleared that the bans he give might become global. I guess they highly active in DoTa, which I don't play.

True, but through public bls you can also end up on many banlists, but mostly in random pub games that usually do not matter since the hosts are not relevant, it's just a nuisance when u end up on several people's bl for nonsense reasons, like comments saying "fuck you host" or something ;-)
