8.28 still hosted. Silent objection?

I see many hosts still hosts 8.28, and says the newer versions sucks. I don't get this. btw the change logs doesn't say when the explosion system was implemented. I don't find it. Also it could be that the titan was added in 8.29, but I dunno.

Someone who know why this version is hosted so often? I've seen at least 5 different hosts hosting BT 8.28.

8.15 was hosted on the server i play on until the -effects command was implemented. Purely for bandwidth reasons.

well... there are Players wich host 8.28 still, as you said TKF.. cause they don't like the newer version.. why ?

i even don't understand why the "newest" version must be hosted.. i always be happy if someone host a 7.58 or a 7.25 cause..
in this version the team with real skill win's, and not lamming n00bs... maybe thats the reason why some PPL host older version's.. i think, it began wit 8.12... when you can win the game easy by lamming... not by skilled BT gamming..

for example... since titan was added... one of the players in the leaver team.. shares gold untill getting titan.. win ^^
and not get better tank/item and show skilled gaming.. no they die 10 times untill they have titan....and then, when your team isn't so good... bang over...this wasn't so some Versions before ^^

but it's the ppl... who make a game bad.. also this are the ones who say gG @ the end... but they haven't understand what gG means.. a game of Honor and Teamwork.. not lamming.. with exploder/guard/titan/mass troop cause they can'T handel it otherwise.. very poor ^^

A few hosts 8.15 and older versions cuz of the factory change. But I can understand that, but seeing so many 8.28 games made me wonder if there was something really wrong with the newer versions... Like the new prototype Titan. (it's not tank, its a mecha imported from gundam seed :mrgreen:)

Your opinion is that the exploder/guard/titan/mass troop is lamming? Someone calls the trader lame and wished it was totally removed from the games. I like the trader cuz of team gold share which works in nopool mode. It's a giving strategy, that works better as the game continues. Also there is a option for the host to choose no explosives mode, and someone would wish there was a no troop spam mode option. Also the titan is insanely strong, and is available at urush, and almost everyone takes it, and urush turns into a game of eternal maulingness -.-

Anyways new version brings new stuff. Some like new things and other dislike changes more.

If you have a leaver, you should ban that person. You can't make judgments about BT in a leaver game because it is automatically imbalanced.

Why don't you have sharing off as per default?

I do agree that titan is imbalanced. I'm really thinking of it's 25% HP skill, making all around him invincible for a short time. But on his own without weaponry it's nothing more than a big, slow shield

i don't mean it's lame to take one of this things @ game start... i mean ppl.. who choose this after they realized there is..no other way to win..or just cause they know they will lose, they take it and lame the whole game untill end..and best ones are which leave after they realized that this.. will also not bring them the win.So they are not skilled enough for playing "normal" to the end of game and take it as a man to lose... or even type -giveup, most.. ppl are to proud to type it.. no they leave.. girls

that's right.. but nearly 90% of the ppl here in the Forum are talking about.. things which are imba... cause as you said.. after one leaver bt is automaticly imba..

without.. leaver.. BT isn't imba... i dont want to say its perfect balanced but.. there is a real good balance in BT since i have started playing my first game, still to the newest version. (maybe some ppl. don't know what "imba" means ^^)

what is really funny, is that i know many "good" gamers, but... there are still many.. which play longer then me and haven't learned anything and make same mistakes every game ^^ and after every game they wonder why they lose again or have bad stats or what ever :mrgreen:

Yeah that's what i'm saying. BT shouldn't be changed based on what happens in games with leavers.

I'd really like to play you guys from europe but the lag would be pretty crap... I'm the king in my server and it gets a bit boring.

It's no problem when people host old versions, it would be one if there more old then new ones. The 8.15-problem with the effects should be fixed right now.

As for the Titan, it's still a new tank and needs balancing, so it won't help us much when people are just saying "I don't wanna play with that", so I'll hope we get some feedback on the new additions to balance them out.

Yep that's right. There are actually about 5 aussie servers, but only that one's really used by a fair amount of people. When warcraft first came out PVPGN emulation was poor and i had to play on a taiwanese server. Now there are servers all over the world.

And if we all go offtopic, let me join too:

1: You need a loader (w3l)
2: You can edit the registry, use a 'bnet gateway editor" (sometimes packed with trojans), or use a pre-made registry file

Yes, there are servers all over the wold.
