Let the HB discussion rest. Yes, a lot of players enjoyed the mode and were disappointed it was removed. Yes, a lot of players left after they made the change - and a many of Azeroth clans were cut in half or completely vanish after 8.65. Yes, the game became a little bit more linear - with players less able to do funky-fun builds and reach the end-game in a short-medium length game. Yes, High Bounty was a good way to look at the game's mechanics and balance in a different perspective from normal/league mode.
The map developers were well aware of their decision when they made it, and although it wasn't very transparent back then, they were completely firm in their stance the second they posted "Why High Bounty was removed..." Whether it meant only a handful of people would play the game or that thousands of players would flock to compete, this is the direction they wanted to take the game... They wanted a standardized League game that competitive players were willing to play, and so High Bounty as a fun mode had no place in their plans.
It's not our map - and so we can either move on, create our own map to compete with Battle Tanks, or simply enjoy the solid game that's already there. Either way, with the current development plans there's NO plans to reintroduce a fast mode and you have to accept that. Just respect their decision and move on - even if you do not agree it was in the best interest of the game.
P.S. I see some of these threads have resorted to the "lazy american" / "facist german" jabs... Come on now, surely we can be more mature than this, right?
