What you think is not what matters.
For example, the (and I use this term loosely here) "majority" of players who voted against HB to begin with
thought that it was unbalanced and such. No test league games were ever done on it... actually it was
completely removed before league even started probably to just eliminate its validity in any argument.
You think that it was only a fun mode and not a competitive mode. Take the HB mode and apply the changes
there are to the map now and tell me that the game in HB would be less balanced I dare you.
Now what you thought really didn't matter. This community has shrunk by over 10x now that HB's gone.
What mattered was what people were willing to play. Having a color setup that is similar to other games
for gamers who "transition" to this game because in all honesty they'll play this once and notice the colors
are all fucked compared to DOTA and battleships which are nearly identical.
But now that you see that you get like 10 gold per creep and it's all chance and shit... you can't even
farm up any good weapons until after someone on a team has fed 25 deaths. That's the stupid part of
this game. You have no spare gold, it all must be allocated to a strategy that takes usually 25 minutes
of saving gold (in noob gold that's 5k)... but there has been no mechanism set to compensate for the
lack of gold injection in this game.
Pro mode as you put it relies on someone feeding/killing the other team like 2:1 before any real differences
present themselves. Now if you get 1 CP, you usually just win the match.
If you really wanted to fix this game you would fucking make it so that light tank had like 3 or 4 slots or
maybe just 2 slots so people got the fucking message. "IF YOU HAVE THIS TANK AND FILL ALL SLOTS YOU
WILL LOSE".... really because they should be moving on to the next tank already... but NOOOO we can't do
that because people would figure out this game is all about saving that gold that anyone who begins this game
auto-spends because they don't realize that to begin with.... if there were no 5 minute intervals of gold all that
would happen would be that players who farmed up weapons and spent regularly would win outright. The fact
that gold that you never farmed is handed out to you every 5 fucking minutes is completely retarded and awards
NOTHING SKILL-WORTHY. The fact that you control a checkpoint means fucking jack... well maybe it doesn't but
it shouldn't reward them for each 5 minutes they hold it.
The other thing is that btanks is actually NOT a team-oriented game. People will leave lanes if you join them to
help them kill other tanks because you are leeching xp etc. Several games in a row players are completely
uncooperative when it comes to the fact that killing other tanks is how you get more gold. No, they don't fuckin
care about the TEAM all they care about is themselves. A checkpoint? What teamwork is that? Hmm lets see someone
gets a tank like hunter or gaurd, sets up camp and gets troop commands and takes the CP. It really isn't that complicated.
The excuse of saying holding CPs allows for more gold to be given to the other team, along with killing factories is
a complete misconception of the battle tanks game. This skewed view of teamwork and its respective rewards for
the particular achievement is what has caused the game to go so bad. Take for example troop command center...
why bother? Why don't you just reward those who kill the factories with bonus troops that spawn at their end that give little to no gold? The
added abilities are included (perhaps like troop command) or you could give the team who kills a factory some armor or attack upgrades that are
permanent. The whole concept that has blown this game out of the water wasn't the bounty it was the fucked-up
gold situation that had to do with the PPs and CPs. Fuckin players were complaining that people could turtle and win.
That was fixed just last patch. Did we need to ditch HB? NO. Actually rewarding players who did farm well with a
minimal gold bonus every 5 minutes IN COMPARISON to normal mode actually made way fucking more sense. It does
help speed up the game and take advantage of every aspect of the game including the higher-end weaponry that we
fucking never ever ever see in a regular game. Carrion swarms? Nope. Frost lazers? Nope. Just to name a few.
Seriously the things that are most wrong with this game are:
1) Allowing players to collect for creep unit bounties periodically when they could have killed 0 is wrong.
2) Killing towers is fucked up, they should be deniable, like DOTA so skill is involved.
3) Killing Barracks should not affect the gold flow in the game, just unit strength and ability * - maybe somewhat like creep command center.
4) Taking a CP should not offer any more gold than actually capturing it. The "additional units" that spawn from the control
points should not affect the gold flow in the game in any way.
5) Creep bounties need a serious buff to HB levels to compensate for no more 5 minute noob gold.
6) Tank bounties need to be ~30% higher to inject more gold into the game in a fair manner.
7) A tank should only be able to carry 1 hull. Tanks actual HP should depend more on level than type. Hulls should add armor.
8) There needs to be more variety in speed packs and teleports. Weak TP should be introduced for example. Integration with hulls maybe.
