it was mainly meant to be a valuable option as a first weapon for the goblin shredder, because you dont want to farm long (because you cant really) and you want so some noticable damage to enemy tanks as soon as possible.

but it could also be possible with demolisher, or antigrav (or with scout + iron hull?).

also: Fan of Knives really looks like a short range weapon (because of the huge visual projectile spread effect). and the word Fan itself also doesnt sound like anything with any kind of higher range.
