Fireball and Fan of Knives
#21
Do not do weapon changes... since the changes of Ghosts of Doom and Confusion Magic I never saw them in public games... and in pro games, too.
It would be the same... yes, they have nearly same DPS and range... and if you want to have a 1100 short-range weapon then remake Glaive Cannon.
Glaive Cannon is a Antigrav starting weapon, but the most time Antigravs take Molotov Cocktails for beginning.
Glaive Cannon
Costs: 1100
Damage: 66
Cooldown: 0,6
Range: 650
DPS: 110

Upgrade
Costs: 600
Bonus-Damage + 44
DPS 167

I see Glaive Cannon used all the time. I can't even remember the last time I saw someone get Molotov Cocktail. Or Grenade Launcher for that matter

They are similar when upgraded, besides knives being faster. The issue isn't the upgrade though, it's when you're using them without the upgrades. especially with knives, it allows the player to adapt to how the other team is playing and decide whether to go short or mid range...

I personally stick to the option to make Fan of Knives cost 1100 with 550 range. And its upgrade should increase dps and cost 555. Other numbers are derived attributes that are calculated by static and known formula.

It should be a range of 600 like the suggestion you can find here:

I think we should change fireball instead = =

since 2200 and then jump to 2700 cost how about upgrade fireball to 2500 cost

and then improve fireball more useful since fireball cooldown 0.75 in 1 sec(FB 154, FoK 198) or 2(FB 308, FoK 396) sec fan of knives able to do more damage. This is very good reason to fight in 1-2 sec

I remember the good ol' days (not really, today is better) when fan of knives was a GREAT weapon. Now it's almost never used. With the recent trends of sniping or using mid range (basics, rockets) and then getting very short range, low-mid range weapons (like fan of knives, machine gun) are often never used. Its either very short or very long.

Thusly (although it is possible to waste money upgrading fans) I think they should have a slight damage increase, just to change the trends a little bit, you know, shake things upSmile

The weapons are realy not the same. And I think also please make not a change on it.
You see ingame many persons ho take this 2 weapons.
But all take the different weapons in different reasons.
Someone want the range from beginning from the Firebal.
Someone like the fire frequency from the FoN.
There are more weapons where is the same thing.
Will I take low frequency with high damage to be sure the creep is death, or will I take high frequency, lower damage and I have to hit the creep more times?
In reason of this you have from the beginning different ways how you can or have to play..
And I think this is good so.

Not really. When working with a tank like shredder, short-range low-cost high-dps weapons are great. Additionally, you could get two of these with other, less expensive tanks at the beginning. Or, for example, a scout with one of these and a hull for the life to get up close to the enemy. Together with the heals, that'd be powerful.

keep them both as they are, both weapons are mainly bought at the beginning of the game.
So you play them some minutes wothout upgrade, during this time they behave totally different.
After upgrading you still have the different fire rate as mentioned before, and i think this is a huge difference between both.
