Remake Helicopter Rocket

Just got the idea to remake the Helicopter Rocket.


My suggestion is to exchange the stun with a 50% slow over 2 seconds, and increase the range of that rocket by about 100 as a balance for that nerf. Also, that skill could get a new icon/animation/name.

why is that nice?

-more diversity among the tanks, aimed with stun is used very often (light tank even got exactly the same)
-very few slow effects in Btanks so far
-air tanks normally have no stun in general
-fits the Helicopter style in my opinion
-does not really need new balancing (as 50% slow for 2 seconds is similar to 1 second stun)

By that token, why not apply it to light tank or heavy tank? they are both ground tanks and have almost the same skill. I like helicopter very much for its stun.

There are 4 air tanks, helicopter is the only one without stun. So removing stun and replacing with a slowing effect could be nice, but it doesnt help with 'more diversity'.

well it could be applied to the light tank, but then it should have another thing than more range as a balance for this nerf, as i think more range hits the helicopter better.

the heavy tank's shot as already a bit different due to its high range, i'd really like the helicopter's rocket (or maybe the light tank's if you need) to be changed.

hrmm i think it will be 2 good 2 seconds slow rocket will be 2 easy 2 land bombs in a combo with normal missile its hard 2 land bombs after cause you must get closer but with 2 second slow and air being faster usally i think its strong mb put it on like tank would be awesome not like 0.5 second is that effective

Same problem there with the Swarm Rockets. And so it is with every other tank that has an unaimed attack.

Besides that I don’t see a big problem with making combos easier. I’d say give it a try. Testing will show whether it’s imba or not.
Is SC2 - Battle Tanks out yet?

dont like the idea :/ cause stun is the only thing making the heli interesting. with that slow effect i dont think u stand any chance against a light tank in beginning. cause u can use rocket + bombs on light, so he cant use any skills for 2 sec. otherwise hes always able to use his rocket (maybe also repair) as well

I dont think that 2 sec slow can take place of 1 sec stun. You can stop infernal or Frost robot or Sky Fortress from casting their ulti with stun but not with a slow. You can kill 10%hp tank with stun before it tp away.
Stun can disrupt but slow cant.. It would be a bad nerf for helli..

btw, you really want that stun because you can stop the ulti of infernal? with helicopter? oO



i just think light tank and helicopter should not have exact the same skill (besides tank cannon).

Strength and weakness of stun and slow are hard to judge, both are effective depending on the situation. Just how much more, will only be found out after playtesting it. Which means you are changing the tank's 'role' quite a bit by proposing a slow effect instead.

How about a slow effect with micro-stun? it can stop channeling spells well enough and still has the slow effect. (for heli, im against itTongue)

Yes in fact i thought of micro stun too but it would be something cloned from frost robot this way.. But also it would be coolBig Grin
