Remove League Ban - Nostralias

I was in a bunch of games with HASMAT yesterday where he played extremely poorly. If you watch the replay, you can see he just stopped playing. The team could have won if he would have done something productive.

Ckibibi submitted the ban request which I think we all agreed on.

But instead, I got banned (along with 2 others) for trying to kick him.

Yes, I flamed and I am sorry for that. But hasmat played like this consistently in the games and just fed and then decided to not play. Imagine playing for hours at a time only to have 1 player ruin the entire experience. I don't mind if he isn't a good player, but at least he shouldn't be hurting his team. I don't think we should be required to "teach" not getting tinker at end game...I think that is obvious for someone that has played enough qualify games to play on the ranked server.

I am requesting that my server ban be removed since I always play with good faith and try to help my team. Even when I am dominated I don't change to tinker and sit in base.

I am sorry I flamed. I was mad about the situation is all.

That was the response for the ban I asked on hasmat.
Can a league admin clarify what they understand by denial of play?

I dont have any grudge on new player joining league. They got to learn, they need few matches to get in league pace. Sure it s annoying when they dont listen and you cant do a thing to save the game because they lack of teamplay and common sense on economic behaviour. But at least they try to play and most learn quick some good builds.

What I dont understand is someone who played more than 80 games in League still got an average of 30 in APM. and Especially in the game i gave you replay he is at 25 with some afk. When you play with this player it feels like he is afk.

I take a look at others "newbie" and their apm is around 80, 100 or even 60.
Maybe I am wrong, but 25 is really low and i feel no will for him to get involved in the game. And when you asked him to buy tanks instead of weapons he does not react.

So yes we tried to kick. I dont like kicking early in game, everyone has his bad start and you can be unlucky to face a better opponent. When you spend 20 or 30 minutes in game and still doing solo play whith 25 APM, dont buying new tank I think It is a denial of play after 80 matches in League.

So can you tell me if denial of play is stopping to play at a stage of game and staying at base or can we assume that a low APM is denial of play?

Maybe someone can show me a game with good play and only 30 APM. Because I dont quite realize what is the minimum of actions to reflect a real will of play.

I fully support the removal of this ban, Nostralias is an excellent team player and person. Flaming seems like a very rare occurence from someone like him, and while I haven't seen the replay I'm sure it can be justified as "excruciating circumstances"

On a side note I think it's absurd that Nost was even banned in the first place since nobody even made a formal request to have him banned. Isn't there a rule that dictates admins cannot formally ban someone enless someone makes a request for that paticular player to be banned in the first place?

Well i haer flaming from nostralis every game we play together but i also fully support removal of this ban (i just don't know if my support won't make it worse for nostralis;).
Hasmat is a joke guy, useless in every game i saw him. 30 apm, 0.41 caps/game, 1:3 k/d ratio, always the worst game performance in team and flaming. What else is needed?

We could have actually won if Hasmat would have tried to play. In my opinion, sitting in the base is not to avoid dying. It's to hurt the team. His towers were not effective at defense or anything. He sat there doing NOTHING. That's denial of playing.

While I understand that my words were wrong, I don't understand how using APM is reasonable here. The entire team is flaming Hazmat because we all knew that he was doing this to screw the team over. In regards to giving him tips, I'm almost sure I asked him to get a tank and to help take damage in the game.

How can three people on the team be wrong and 1 person (hazmat) be right?

No one submitted a ban request on me, but three of us were banned anyways.

In any case, I will patiently wait my 1 week.

I took a look at the apm list and it seems that the first "decent" player is at 40~45 APM. And all those players IDs ( maybe somes are the same people with more account) have a high play / leave(or kicked) ratio.
Maybe a limit on apm ont the last 20 games could be made like the % stay ratio. less than 40 = go to qualify to improve your finger strength (or drink coffee, stop smoking while playing..)!

As for the game where the ban was refused and 3 people got banned for insults :
I rewatched this game and indeed Hasmat seems to play. At 20 or 25 someone asked him to buy tanks cause he was getting low on HP -> he bought long range, think he change iron to steel hull, 10 minutes later he bought troops -> then go to lane buying more siege pack and troops pack. Team told him later to buy tanks -> go to base sell all items except troops and buy troop command center... no ups for now then wasted his gold on factory when we were close to being siege. AND most important he summoned bomb close to our base , I think he was aiming for red inf but he got our 2 towers!! I think on the moment I didnot understand this move and thought he was bombing our base ( I was wrong it seems but that is one of the reason I asked ban). In all the game He NEVER attacked with team.

I thought maybe he doesnot understand english but he speak once to say "bad game for me".

Maybe he got only one arm, maybe he s sick... I dont know but after 80 League Games You cant play with someone doing solo play wasting team gold on useless stuff and dont listenning when someone told you to buy new tank ( especially when you know how to sell your items to buy troop command center).

So I can understand when teammates got angry like that, I also understand the reason why you banned them. I just feels it s hard to punish them and not hasmat.

Seeing that hasmat has now over 100 penalties and have to go back to qualify makes me think it is not unnecesary to improve the selection on APM.
And I dont know If admins have discussed on the matter of APM and denial of play but If You can confirm that this type of game play (hasmat) dont get banned, maybe I will spare in the future some unasked bans on 3 players, leaving the penalties do his job = kicking this non playing style out of ranked games.

Regarding hasmat: For me it looks like he's just a (very) bad player (at least in this particular game). I would prefer not to ban such people but maybe send them back to qualify. The question is which values and bounds to use for this and how these players can "requalify".

Currently i think an elo limit could be about 1350 (150 below 1500) compared to our best players with about 1738 elo (238 above 1500). Just had a look at the database: currently we've got 11 players with an elo < 1350.
For apm i'm quite unsure where to set a limit (maybe around 45).

My point is that my team was punished for flaming someone that has ruined many many games and you seem very focused on that aspect of the game. Everyone on my team was very frustrated with hasmat. But you allow him to continue playing despite the fact that he purposely played without teamplay and then decided to sit in the base until we lost.

We are talking about one specific game here. I did only see one single game with this guy. And the ban request got accepted. I only agreed with this decision.

Again: Watching the replay it looks like he's just a bad player but he kept doing actions. And yes, he was in the base in the end - but at least he fed less, right? Looks like he thought this would be the best he can do.
Additionally considering he got flamed/insulted during the game and many kick-attempts against him were started, he kept "cool", didn't start to flame/insult against you. That's what has to be considered here too.

If there haven't been flames/insults and kicks against him his actions might have looked different...
And that's also my basic point. Although he was flamed and kickvoted all game long he still kept "nice". Others would start a flamewar in such a situation.

If there was a like button on this forum, I'd click it for every post Velocity2k (or "velo" for short) made on this thread.

I've had tons of games with bad players even in ranked, actually to me it's every game that there's at least 2 or 3 in my team. Still, I never insult them, and while I stopped giving tips everytime, I do so most of the time. And sometimes people don't learn and they don't listen to you - well, that's how it is. Learn to cope with it - it's the same as in real live, that is, if you tell someone to do something, they might not be inclined to do it depending on your tone.

You could've instead tried things like "you should get more hp if you want to die less" or "plz get a hull, you're only being farmed right now".

Also I (though not being an admin, but a player) fully support this ban, as the manners of most players are already bad enough as it stands. And using majority rule here would be a rather bad idea - think about the second world war, where the majority was made to think that judes are evil itself - 'nough said.
