Some browsers (...IE...) have problems with "external" cookies, the url of this board ist forum.btanks.net, but the cookies are saved for btanks.net (because i use them on some other pages too..) so if you got problems with login, allow btanks.net to use external cookies.

Even if this is old, there is still someone stuck with this login issue. Some people are very pissed cuz they don't know what to do.
Apparently this might be a reason why forum has become much more inactive. I spoke to shift1 few days ago and he tried to login and told me that he has login problems and couldn't login; I said to him that he must delete the cookies in the web browser. Hopefully he understood it and removed the cookies. There is probably several others which hasn't solved this yet and is stuck probably. This same issue prevents you to post in the guest forum as well. Also not everyone found their way into this thread in general discussion. I had to login in with IE (I used firefox and could't login; and I must login cuz the standard board style completely confuses me, so I had to login to get a overview in the forum), then I found this matter in the Bugtracker thread under general discussion and understood then that I had to delete my cookies. This announcement is hidden beneath General discussion, and not everyone perhaps looks there for a solution for their login problems.

Just never use Internet Explorer again - there is no reason to other than that it's already installed and you wouldn't use black/white tv if you can get a color one for free, just because the monochrome tv is already there, now wouldn't you?
http://www.getfirefox.com - firefox
For thos of you who do not want to use firefox, there are other alternatives as well:
opera - nice features, bad website support
safari - good speed, but misses some features
google chrome - same rendering engine as safari (webkit), good speed, good memory usage, but a very 'different' interface
iceweasel - firefox fork for the linux users who like forks more than the original
and the list could be extended nearly endless - and i don't think there is any browser out there worse than any internet explorer version i have ever seen (that includes version 3 up to version 8 as well as the mac versions - webdevelopers really got it hard...)
Getting used to the Sand everywhere. At least it brings us map updates.

Well i use Maxthon and very happy with it. Sometimes i use google chrome for large webspace screen. I used Firefox as well but not so good imo. And worst is exactly IE, slowest, worst interface and last version blocks some sites even if you close cookies in name of "security bla bla".
