Leavers replaced AI?

Do you reckon there should be an option to replace leavers with an AI player rather than killing the unit?

If this were to be done, it should be an optional command that can be done only by the host at the start. This would prevent it from being activated in clan matches where it is not wanted.

Another choice, is that the host can opt-out at the start with a command. Either way works

the problem with this is that AI players always have a "special" strategy. they only use tanks and weapons, means that they dont know how to use items other than weapons like the teleporter (right?).


worst case is that a tinker player/exploder/trader leaves. the AI could maybe sell all stuff and buy a tank and weapons but... he would feed anyway.

all right...

but the AI would be able to play as a player who used weapons, they decide what weapon to buy in the game, and dont have a list from the beginning, so at least that one would be possible...

and the only way would be selling, everything, yes (except for hulls, repair robots perhaps)

But the main issue is what if the leaver is a tinker, exploder or a trader? Then they must change tank after death of they possess these. They can sell activation items. I assume they all have common movement scripting.


But if AI is to be put in place when there are leavers, a cmd must be issued at start. for example -ai. If this option is allowed, there must be possible to kick this computer too, so that wouldn't be disabled when the player leaves!

added the command "-leaverai" for the host, AI players are still kickable, the AI sells all its non-weapon-items when it respawns, and then plays normally, buys weapons, tanks

can the command be entered after a player left? or only in the beginning?

I think it should have the same time limit as share, cv, (2 min), and perhaps it must be typed before a leaver occurs, otherwise I find it a bit strange.

it can be typed everytime during the game and all following leavers will be replaced with an AI
it can also be disabled during the whole game

i didnt see any problems with that

btw: what about if the AI is able to sell items it cant use for 100% of the gold? i think that'd be better, otherwise its unfair because the AI looses half of the gold just because the leaver had played another tactic

ye, 100% item- and tankvalue, its only fair.

its a nice idea to replace leavers with AI's. if it works properly, i would make it standard game setting (can be deactivatet)

hmm ok.

but it replacing leavers with AI's could be a nice way to show some features of bt which arent pupolar. they could offer items for sale for example. its also a incentive to further improve the AI. i think using items like speed upgrade, hull and repair robot can be added to the AI script with little effort. (?)

also the teleporter should be added to the AI script. if the hp of the AI is below ~15%, he automatically teleports to his next cp (only defensive use). this would prevent AI's from feeding too much.

But I have this feature in blade artist, every time there is a leaver, every players get to vote if he's going to be AI controlled or not.


But I think it's best for it be initially off. If the host like to turn it on, he just type -ai or -leaverai. Also could could be nice if this feature could also be turned off as well.

both need a new shop, that the AI has to move there, and it needs balancing between weapons / tanks / special items... currently the AI only has to balance between weapons / tanks...
i wont add that in the next time

well, really funny

why you play in the b-net ? i do cause i want to play against real people...

so, if this command would be added, and you play a game, 1-2 or even after maybe 5 ppl left in one team i play against 5 Ai's ?

sorry then i will leave the game to... :roll:

live with it, that there are leaver in puplic games in mostly every game, handle it or not

and what about, the funny ppl using kick/or kicktool to kick Big Grin not so good people, Is this fair for the kicked one ? no

then for, maybe the kicked one a AI is added ?

i'm really against that...

well, it was less work than i thought

AND this is a command, which can be activated by the host... ntohing more, you can still play bt the old way, and most people probably will do it, its just an additional option
