Mac Os X Compatability

If it's okay to ask: What exact changes were made so that the map became compatible to play with on Mac systems? I've noticed a lot of maps on HiveWorkShop crash for Macs when they work perfectly fine on PCs. I'm extremely curious as to what exactly is the difference, since Warcraft 3 ultimately runs on both Mac and PC.

afaik Mac OS mainly had some various problems with icon pathes or the icons itselves, which resulted in an fatal error when the icon should have been displayed, e.g. while learning a skill. after changing to another icon these errors were gone.

I see. How did it become known which icons caused the errors(so those specific ones could be changed)?

Or did it just require the entire set to be changed?

The problem occured after some icons have been changed. So we knew which icons might cause the problem.
