Change the healing drone skill? - TKF - 2008-06-29

There is still some players that uses the airships healing drones as a means of great healing. Even if the healing drones have decent mana cost, it's still quite powerful healing tool that is quite much for such a cheap tank.

I haven't asked the mapper, but I'm interested to see how many agrees in this statement.


My personal suggestion: I think the skill should be changed into a different skill: Fighter Bays. These works in the same way as healing drones, but doesn't give life to the airship when they return; They also have 2 small phönix fire weapons as replacement of a strong normal attack which make the damage spread slightly bigger and eliminate the imbaness of having all drones pursuing 1 target and only damage the target they pursue; instead they attack targets within 500 of their range. (These fighters only have 1dmg normal attack as a mean to engage targets and move normally.)


But this is just a poll to see how many thinks the ability should stay the same or it should be changed to balance it. I still think it needs to be nerfed/changed cuz I've seen the imbaness of this skill even in 8.48.

Yes, but this is a 4.5k tank chassis, and this single skill can heal up to nearly 4k HP and damage that same amount too. Not in an immediate fashion (thank goodness), but this is still a little bit too powerful for my taste.

In the hand of a decent player, this is very difficult to counter (FAM_Plyvak mostly :-) )

Well, I´m against changing the skill, cause i played the version 8.42 several times and testet the airship again, but experienced, that only 1/3 of the drones is fighting and only shot every 2-4 seconds a shot and that is not very effective. The healing is just about several hundred hp - maybe 500 if you have level 3-4 Drones and cant use them too good.

The bug which i postet before makes them 100% attacking and firing nearly every second once. So if you think of 12 Drones ->12 Shoots - per second, and if u take the usual skill in earlier versions there are maybe 2shoots. So the bug increased the skill effectiveness by at least a factor of 6 and following drones, which didnt appear before.

I think the skill was very good balanced and its just this problemSmile, maybe changingthem to real fighter drones is a solution - lets see what the others vote ^^
