Greetings from a Chinese player
#1
I know I have probably posted this in the wrong place, but I am not sure where I should post this. Anyway, I loved this game since I played the German version (4.5?) on Bnet. Although I don’t know any German, I figure out how to play the game by watching other players. It was enjoyable and I felt that this map has a strong potential to be one of the most popular maps such as DOTA all-stars. I started to search for Chinese versions on the web but the latest version I could get is 1.2 or 1.3. This annoys me because a good map such like this shouldn't be excluded because of the language problem. However, I did nothing about it on because I have to take my secondary education examSad But now I have finished the exam and have a 3 months holiday with nothing exciting to do. So, I hope that the Battle Tank team could give me permission to translate the latest version (8.48) to Chinese.

Regards

I moved it into another forum.

Well, its great to see, that you want to do something like that. But I hope you know how much work this is. Back when the map was still german, there were also some people who wanted to translate the map into english, and some of them just didnt finish the translation because it was too much for them (imo someone said it to him nearly 25 hours to translate everything). But if you feel confident to do this, its ok. But I think you should wait until 8.49, as there will be some bug fixing and balancing.

Right now I don't have the time to do it (I can start working again on the map at the weekend) and Bob is on vacation. I'd also like to have his confirmation, since he created the map.

Hopefully this will get some players for the Kalimdor-LeagueWink

Hm, maybe its possible to export the string-table from the map and later import it again, this should be easier for you, since you can't miss anything then. We also have to see if this will cause some problems with the league.

I think it's quite bad that almost none play battle tanks in kalimdor. I logged on to the gateway once to promote missile war, they didn't understand my English writing in my map as they expect the maps to be in their language <.< They talked gibberish to me all the time and expected me to understand (luckily I did turn on support for Korean language, but I can't understant that  ). I wonder if they can see my english letters????

Also all maps are written in Korean, Chinese or similar languages that I'm cannot read at all. Don't expect anyone who playing on that gateway to speak English. They are a very rare race.

Hi guys. I am one of sudium's friends and I would really love to see more people playing this game, it's an amazing game. We believe that people in China haven't touched or played this game mainly because there isn't any updated chinese vision. It would be great if you could give us the premission to translate this game so that people in the eastern world can experience this fantastic game.

I dont know how long it'll take, maybe two weeks.

And I don't have msn. And like I said, I can't do anything until the end of the week, because I'm quite busy at the moment with my exams. You'll get some information when Bob is here again (which should also be around the end of this week).

the number of korean players is just amazing now. there are some really good players in asia now even though they haven't been playing long and most don't speak only a little english or none at all. markhill's not bad. we had a 1v1 where he was kicking my ass untill i raped him with earth robot. i sometimes wonder if btanks overtaking dota in custom game play is just a pipe dream or if it really will happen. it would be cool to play in a real btanks tournament someday.
Why's the rothchild family crest and the illuminati symbol on my 1 dollar bill? Why do rich and powerful American "christian" leaders have gay sex and worship a giant 40 foot stone owl at Beach Grove every year? Why doesn't anyone care?

I REALLY doubt it will overtake dota, dota being #1 on wc3. Dota is just so much more complex with so much more support, getting btanks ahead of dota would require an insane amount of work. Current btanks i find just too simple, despite the complexities of btanks, to be a really competetive map like dota.
