2 Ability ideas
#1
Only the function is important (the idea) and i provide some possibilities for the idea, for exo or others to elaborate on.
I will add more to this post, tank ideas to go with the abilities

Ability: Thrust Vectoring........................
Alternative names: Decrease/Increase Thrust, Ground/Air Form/Mode, Land/Take Off, Descend/Ascend

• Function: Changes the air tank to a ground tank
• How: Lowers the tank, physically changes the tank model, 'glides' the tank directly straight like sky forts ability at an angle.
• Level onus: Decreased transition time, additonal bonuses, decreased 'landing' distance

• Example: Support style tank, cannot use hero weapons, works kinda like antigrav in the 'antigravity' sense by making it hover higher or lower. Slows the tank down while descending/ascending and only when the transformation is complete will the tank be considered ground/air so while switching, flak for example, would hit you until you finished the ability. The main purpose of this ability in a support tank would be sync with other skills (obviously havent thought of).
• "super" Antigrav tank for late game, it had advanced form of 'jump' which explains why it can go airborne. Uses "Hover" allowing it to fly up for limited time, with limited movement conrol (cant do sharp turns) and no other penalties. It has a main jump skill which has less range but propels the tank faster than antigrav jump, AND has some form of protection while jumping e.g. evasion. This can be used from air mode, in which case it deals damage to a target round area. When in ground mode, it can hit air units but if it misses, it will fly past.

Ability: Decoy......................................
Alternative names: Electromagnetic Tank, Electromagnetic Bomb,

• Function: Creates a unit or tower that draws enemy fire
• How: Summons at target location, direction tank is facing or behind the tank, can use mirror image abilty or [decoy image WC3 item - forgot name]
• Extras: Can be controlled, can be moved, unlimited hp (very high), time limit, short cooldown, setup time,

• Example: Decoy Tank - 200ms, same hp, no armour, created next to tank
- Level bonus: increase % ms, lv5 = 100%ms, bonus HP,
• Example 2: Electromagnetic Bomb - plants invulnerable item at target within 800 range, 3 seconds detonation time, when detonated, it draws enemy fire for X seconds
- Level bonus: creates invisible unit placeholders to draw more fire, increased duration, decreased detonation time, extended casting range

Notes: In MG mod, i believe there was an item that created a mirror image of the tank.

cool ideas. i voted yes for both even though i'm not too sure about the decoy ideas. of course it could be used but i just don't want to give noobs another easily countered in 90% of the time and possibly insanely over powered at other times new defensive crutch to use so they can over abuse it. the thrust vectoring idea i really like though. that just sounds cool as fuck.
Why's the rothchild family crest and the illuminati symbol on my 1 dollar bill? Why do rich and powerful American "christian" leaders have gay sex and worship a giant 40 foot stone owl at Beach Grove every year? Why doesn't anyone care?

The decoy ability could be used on an item, in which case, be VERY expensive so that it is clearly a late game version of the reinforcement-meatshield-pack. It should just be renamed to Meatshield Pack. Instantly increases your hp by a factor of 5 and insanely powerful against slow firing enemies. This single decoy wouldnt offer as much 'bonus' HP so it isnt exaclty a late game version of reinforcements. I would vote a 'maybe' if i could for it because it causes a lot of balance grey areas.

Thrust vectoring could be pure hax. Get an Axe Launcher/Flak Cannon and switch from ground/air depending on what enemy you’re facing at that moment.
Sounds pretty funny but if you don’t link this ability with some other bonuses/penalties it only purpose would be the better use of such weapons. (Or in reverse the protection against them.) And therefore it would only be useful in midgame. In early game you can’t afford these weapons and in late game you can buy better weapons that attack all enemies.
Am I right or am I too blind to see the other benefits of switching between ground and air?
So in the current form I vote no for Thrust Vectoring.

Decoy sounds fun but the mirror unit has to be a “hero” to draw fire from hero only weaponry, too. (I voted yes.)
Is SC2 - Battle Tanks out yet?

Thrust Vectoring just seems to give aircraft yet another advantage. Would need to be balanced by giving ground tanks an inverse ability - jetpack perhaps?

Decoy sounds cool but would be hard to balance.

Yes to Decoy, no to thrust

Uh, i havent even applied the ability to a tank idea so it has no context... and no one has put the ability in context, only vague possibilities - i have thought about the taking advantage of those 4 weapons.

Ill update the main post with tank ideas that the ability could be used with.
