Meepo like tank

Following up on one of my ideas here (http://forum.btanks.net/viewtopic.php?f=...448#p24448) how about having a tank that's actually two tanks?

1st skill: Equalize damage
Equalizes the amount of hitpoints between the two tanks. The total hitpoints of both tanks will still be the same after this ability is used. This ability will level by the maximum amount of hitpoints equalized and cooldown.

2nd skill: Repulsion
Violently pushes both tanks away from each other. Units hit while tanks are being pushed apart will be dealt damage

3rd skill: Speed boost
Passively increases the tank's speed. Positioning is very important to this tank, which is why I think this skill is appropriate.

Ultimate: Slammer
Both tanks suddenly accelerate toward each other dealing significant damage (and stun?) to all units caught in between. Upon collision, both tanks will be dealt damage based on a percentage of their (maximum?)hp.

Some way we might balance this unique play style:
Killing one tank will kill both
Each tank will only have 3 item slots
Tanks can only be a maximum distance apart
The damage of the ulti might depend on the inital distance apart

Edit:
The ulti could also work by only accelerating the tank that activates the ability. All units hit will get pushed along with the tank that's accelerating. Caught units could be pushed back a set distance or until the accelerating tank has reached its destination. This would make the ability work like a sort of 'hook'.

There should be any permanent connection between the tanks like "LightningBolt" showing that there is some power between them.
The one Tank could have the ObsidianStatue model and the other the UndeadAirBarge model.

I do like the idea, it sounds to me like two giant magnets on wheels that use their awesome magnetic powers to do stuffBig Grin Unfortunately, I doubt two (or even one) models like that exist so I don't think it would work. It does sound cool though, I like the concept and it would add an interesting twist to the game.
You may notice that some of my posts are somewhat disconnected in their ideas and don't really flow that well. That's because my mind drifts around like a jellyfish in a strong ocean current. You just lost the game.

hmm ... how about the golden box model with wheels? Or maybe something custom designed with the theme of magnets. Anyway, if we're going with the magnet theme the last skill could be renamed "Attraction".

Some more ideas:

Another idea is to replace the speed boost with a short-range blink, which would also help positioning.

In order to synergise attraction and repulsion, while under repulsion tanks the tank that's being repelled can have a phased effect so that immediately after the skill is finished Attraction can be cast.

A replacement for the first skill could be a healing bolt that travels from one tank to the other. The bolt could also heal (and/or damage enemy units) all units caught in between

Golden box, each a different colour.

Or the meepo effect could be a skill rather than innate. Starts off as a cute golden box but can split itself up. This could be a 'transforming' tank with other transformation skills such as size, shape...

How do you manage to play with 2 tanks? Even with targeting skills become so useless, you need to position 2 tanks and use ability? Think about Sky Fortress charge skill. It usually miss while you only need to arrange the direction. With 2 tanks it will be 4x harder and possibly impossible to hit any tank with ultimate and repell, except stationary targets...
Weapons will be splitted, so only one tank will fire at once at a certain range. Will need 2 hulls instead 1 because you say when 1 dies, both dies. Or opponent will always atttack weaker 1.
To make it more useless, it must give 2x bounty when dies. And also double kill bonus...

I say: "Don't bother with this tank."

Using the shortcut to switch tank is not so hard ^_^
I think that micro management of 2 tanks is not impossible. Just look at Sc freak, they are totally able to micro a bunch of armySmile
I am so good that I don't even need to type -rc because I never die !

Playing with 3 meepo's can be done and done very well. Playing with 2 auto-firing heroes is MUCh easier. If exo decides to implement this, expect it to work out.

Hotkey 1 and 2.

Place one tank in one spot. Move other tank as the method of aiming. If you have good micro you can do it with both tanks moving. (needs skill ofc)

I also say dont bother with this tank. I dont like this becoming more complex in that direction.. cough*dota.

Ahaha. Move 1 tank than other than press skill... You will be dead till you do that. Have you ever tried controlling 2 tanks? With -afk take a friend's tank and try to play. And this tank will have 50%-50% hp. Enemy will catch one and kill. While you try to arrange mikros and makros...Smile

Hmm.. Sounds like a challenge. Ive never used more than a single tank but you can control ally's tank when hes in -afk right?

Sounds like fun.

i often play with my brothers and from time to time it happens, that one is afk
so we control his tank, ive to say its really difficult
versus skilled oppenents u dont have a chance simply because w3 wont act as fast as your fingers
when 2 of us (we are 3 brothers) were afk the one who wasnt afk first tried to handle 3 tanks - i tell you, its nearly impossible using skills of all tanks then
so now we do -afkai
as long as youre not using some really weird tactics and the teams are balanced the bot will do quit well for a minute or 2

Just focus on the cursor, use the "1,2,3" to switch tank and"q,w,e,r" to use skill. It is really easy comparing to non auto-fire units... (and if you are azerty, switch to qwerty by alt-shift)

I think the tanks must have more HP than one tank/2 because the probability to shoot at those tanks is doubled. I think they should also have the ability to share 100% of the damage and no hero ability like that (so they will automatically die simultaneously). They should have the same HP all the time.

I don't think it is a good idea to add the tank as you presented it, but it's definetaly a good and unique idea.
However, two normal tanks are useless imho, because you would have to buy multiple weapons and hulls for them.

They could be useful if you have one battle tank and one supporter tank sharing the HP or at least being able to balance the HP between them. Giving the tank parts differnt roles could really be interesting. Maybe one of the tanks can have the ability to transform in a stationary unit, so you have your own personal mini-base or something like that.
