in my opinion, just a removal of the database entry is necessary, because it has almost the same effect.
this would also solve the problem with the unban-askings :wink:
and maybe add a "Ban request form" to the league page, if it speeds up the banning :wink: (it would also stop the flooding in the forum )
I carefully watched the replay about the fight between GEN_Schwarzkopf and xenocide85/General_Pwn.
The 3 replays are actually the same game, just recorded by different person:

GEN_Schwarzkopf ip ban threat.w3g
(Actually at about 30min 40sec, yellow (richard_parker) already said something to green (the.x.rain) which deserves a ban. But later i realized they might know each other, so maybe it was a joke.)
The fight started when General_Pwn got the hunter, who asked his mates (firstly green, i.e. the.x.rain) to stand on the cp, so that the enemies will focus him, meanwhile General_Pwn can cast his ulti and smoke. I think this is not a smart idea, because buy a barri works the same. And there is no right for someone to ask other people to take this risk.
Then after several failed attempts, the.x.rain and general_pwn started fighting each other, and later GEN_Schwarzkopf involved as well. The game was ruined because of the flame.
However, to be fair I don't think general_pwn deserves a ban. Indeed, he said some fxxx words, and started the not wise attacking idea. But the thing is that the other people didn't said much less than general_pwn. Even in the post above GEN_Schwarzkopf is still using the "axxhxxx" word, which i don't see general_pwn keeps doing this (in public).
Maybe i am wrong. If possible i suggest make a vote ^_^ and let more people watch the replay and judge it.
Yes, I think we all agree then; a TEMPORARY BAN should be enforced.
This is the only fair justice to the honorable members of the league, and it affords General_Pwn the second chance he may deserve if he is appologetic to me and The.X.Rain.

The first incident involved was the previous league game the same day were he began unprovoced abusive verbal attacks on allies in a previous game, which was serious enough to be posted for a ban as well, however that game was not saved with the reasonable assumption that we had seen the end of it. The.X.Rain was in that game as well, but at that time was General_Pwn's ally and had to put up with his inccessantly harrassing and abusive behavior.

It's hardly blackmail, since blackmail involves a negative effect on the victim(s). I suggest that wording is less of an issue and it's more of the intent. You can always used negative language to convey your hatred/dislike of someone without the need to use profanities - and at the end of the day, it's what flaming is. Constant negative language towards one or more parties. It is verbal assault and anywhere else in the world (except public gaming forums??) there are repercussions.
May I point out that at this stage, there are no language filters for bnet. Although, it is proliferated by underage people, so it's quite a strange absence. So in this respect, I would recommend that you use the command /squelch ingame to ignore people who are abusive.
Flaming goes back to the birth of the internet, beginning on usenet groups and newsgroup forums. It was all command line in the early 90s. Flaming in the classical sense is making funny off-color retorts to someone who is your friend. (E.g. Yo momma.!)
Flaming is a form of entertainment and attention seeking. It is meant to be funny.
What General_Pwn was doing is not "flaming". Let's be clear on that. This is pure abuse and is not 'flaming."
His view of the world and the internet is completely distorted, and his attitude is proven through his remarks in the forum.

Was -afkai for over one hour in a league game (attached). Antisocial behaviour at its best.
a) ppl who abuse the -afkai bug violate the the "spirit" of the whole league idea (happens frequently but haven't seen that to this extend).
b) ppl who don't want to play don't need access
c) seeing how our opponents took advante it might well be that he's one ofthe multiacount guys seeking advantage for their main account. despite the beta-status of the league I don't think this should be tolerated --> ip ban
Ban Request is for ulk-warrior.
ulk-warrior spent the entire game intentionally feeding and pretending he didn't know what he was doing, thinking he was the funniest person in the world. Start to finish, he put every minute he had into ruining the game.
u can watch the replay, the whole game just run into enemy, from the get-go to the bitter end.
i dont know if it was on purpose because he also got some kills by place mines close to us.
also spawn-facs did they work for losing the game, but his team had also advantage by them.
they pushed mid and could hold some time, it may well be that the mass of creeps assisted a bit.
//edit: in the stats u see that his killbounty was almost as much as oranges one or light-blues.
i post this because the last post is about ulk-warrior, maybe it help you to come to a correct decision.

Ucantstopusnow(purple) blocked the entrance of mid CP since 10 min. Feed on purpose and check what he said in 1hr 27min. For the rest of time he kept feeding on purpose.
