New Base Design

We created a new base design in the development forum and now i want to show it to the other forum members:

this does not have to be implemented, but in the development forum everyone voted for it

It's not so radical change, so the only noticeable thing is that the mid is open. Also it would distract the troops less (perhaps the commanders and the artilleries) if someone is attack from the sides, since those troops run straight through the opening instead of being attracted from side events. Perhaps not?.

I'm not sure about it. It seems kinda easier to attack head on.

i like the design. its giving ground tanks the same chances to attack the base in the middle.

maybe you could also slightly increase the range, in which you can buy stuff at the shops? you have to stand directly at them, quite annoying sometimes.

There might be many protests against the change from those who haven't voted, so we must also expect that scenario.


offtopic: When I looked closer on the picture I noticed there was some more options than in the regular editor. For example JassHelper which I don't have in my editor version.

its NOT our problem if any people dont tell us thair opinion due to thair laziness and therefore we dont have to expect this scenario...... :roll:

I know a few guys who probably will oppose the idea of an open front section, they haven't said a word here yet. Also it will be harder to defend the base, since people are used to the high front mid with entrances only on the sides.

if you fight in front of your base you almost lost the game... the current basedesign only delays the (unavoidable) lose because the creeps just run to death there and (ground) tanks cant attack the front and need too much time to get to the sides (between heal & attack)

p.s. schön das du jetzt doch auch im englischen postestSmile (gilt auch für die anderen)

but i just tried it and had some problems with it... it makes jass a lot easier, but also caused some problems with the map, so that it wasnt displayed properly in the wc3 map menu... so i disabled it now

EDIT: i am only still using TESH as a stand-alone add-on, it highlights syntax for jass, enables tabs in the trigger editor and STRG+Z / STRG+Y for scripts

Are the towers in the base on a higher ground, so the creeps may miss on it? Natural defence?

dont know, they are at the center of the free space between the cliffs... perhaps it is counted for higher level, or it is counted for lower level terrain... dont know

If the towers are on the same level as terrain outside, I think they should stay on the high ground to gain natural defense. Or else the base will be plain as ground. Test this to check if the troops does sometimes miss the towers.
