No, that's all I have to say... Maybe some other players can chime in on this, as I'm sure there are others who know the dynamics of the siege/game time situation much better than I do.
The only thing I can suggest is aesthetic stuff if you wanted to keep the base set-up to look the same as it does now...
-Perhaps make the fences destructible (1000HP-2000HP), attackable by siege damage only (artillery and mortar teams?)... This will maintain the aesthetics of the current base set-up but will the walls/lanes to naturally open up as the siege progresses.
-Maybe move the side gates a bit closer to the central gate, so that attacking from two of them in the late-end-game is a possibility.
