Let's have a look at http://www.mapgnome.org/, and in case direct linking won't work, the search query was: "Battle Tanks"

Last 30days:
Red ones are the last 5khb autohost version. Mapgnomes data do not show any significant drop to BT games at all (which this table won't tell you, but i regularly watch those data).

P.S: please spare it to mention DotA, it won't matter nor do i care about it and it has always much more players than any other custom map (besides kalimdor)
