Hmmm aight - i agree with it being dependant to a degree on the team's ability to adapt.
However, considering most aoe/multi-target skills have a longer cd than mortar teams (and you have 2 cd's to train them if done as i suggested), and if there are the units from Troop Command to take hits, i have found it very difficult to kill mortar teams, in the scenerio i've laid out at least, before they eliminate buildings.
I'd sure like to try out my strat vs some of you hehe just to see if it can, indeed, be effectively countered by a skilled opponent knowing what to expect.
Even having a tank vs me in my lane, to date, has only succeded in slowing down my advance a bit.
I'm on Lordaeron, and i'll update my bnet name notation here on forums to reflect that.
I'll turn off /o igw for a while and host a few btanks - if someone(s) would be willing, plz join up, or whisper me if u see i've already started and i'll wait for you on next rm.
I use a pretty standardized gn - "Battle Tanks!" first, then with a space and "RM" followed by "RM2" etc.
Hope to see some of you in-game.
<edit> Well i just got totally stomped in a game when using this strat. /grin
They went wpns hardcore, and i found myself useless w/o cooldowns, and only mildly usefull with them.
I do feel rather silly now as i was pretty far off on this whole line of thought - sry about that.
Anyway, i retract my questioning of the balance of Mortar Teams.
