In my opinion the problem was that (5k) Hb was about to be played as "the standard mode" and as that extruding the original mode (3k, normal bounty). Well, what is the standard supposed to be? The mode the game is drawn up to be played. And the fittest mode for that was definetly 3000 start gold and the normal bounty formular, as far as I know the game and its evolution (and that's quite some time, played it for the first time on a LAN-Party in 2007).
Don't misunderstand me, scron2, I don't dislike HB players, I just didn't like the "either-or-situation" that conflict between HB-likers and HB-haters climaxed. I myself liked other "fun modes" (tmono, tinker only, bomb run, ...) too which are gone. And please remember that the game speed has been increased at the same version in which hb has been removed.
