Suggestion: Option to buy computer allies
#1
In many games, people will leave and sometimes you will have games where you are the only one left or only have 1 or 2 allies. In cases where you are vastly outnumbered (ex 5 to 1) i think there should be the option to buy or obtain allied tanks that are controlled by ai (better than nothing, right). If you do this, the tank will take some of the force tank, take one of the slots, and be pretty much the same as starting with a regular ai. The amount of gold the computer ally starts with might be a bit complex though.

as host just enter -lai, this will make leaver tanks controlled by ai

yeah, but what about situations where the host leaves or forgets to turn on -lai. In this case, you would have the option to buy computer players to make the game unfair (cause face it, 4v1 is near impossible to win unless the 4 are complete noobs).

It could also be a strategic choice. For example, if the game starts a 3v3 one team might want an extra player to gain an edge.

To be frank, I don't think this is a good idea. Odds are if you start 3v3, nobody wants to have extra players or they would have waited for more humans. And for the most part, nobody ever wants computer players since it's easy to take advantage of their programming and kill them over and over again, especially with long range. Also, to answer your earlier point, if it's a 1v5 no amount of computers will help you, since odds are your teammates left because they were being killed over and over again, thus feeding your opponents. \
You may notice that some of my posts are somewhat disconnected in their ideas and don't really flow that well. That's because my mind drifts around like a jellyfish in a strong ocean current. You just lost the game.

I just played an ultra rush game online. I went exploder, got factories and upgrade troops, my allies went regular tanks. We were winning and killed all 6 factories in their base and had all cps... then 1 person on my team left, then another, then another within 30 seconds. At that point it was just me, an exploder (with lots of gold) vs 3 titans with frost lasers. Even though we were winnnig by a huge margin, cause my allies left it was over, so I left. Woulda stayed if I had comp allies instead.

If you dont want to use it then dont use it. The choice would be option, thus the whole 'buy' concept.

YOU just should host the game and make lai..
and i have no idea how you could make the buyable(or what ever you meaned) bots better/intelligenter/more variabel then the normal ai

hmm what about you could buy a mirror image of you wich is controlled by AI and it costs as much gold as your tank worth, but you can give less money for more damage taken and less damage given (in percent)

"i have no idea how you could make the buyable"

I was thinking something along the lines of this:
-there is a button in the center shop, if you click it you can obtain a computer ally
-there might be tech requirements for a computer ally and/or you might need to have a vote for your team to get one (similar to the -give up command).
-the computer ally comes with a tank and weapons and immidiatly acts as a normal ai would
-the tank the comp ally comes with could depend on armor upgrades and gold
-the tank could also come with experience that depends on how much time has passed
-the gold that the computer ally recieves could be equal to how much extra gold your team would have if there was an additional player. (if noone knows what I mean, realise that you don't get full gold from your force or when leavers leave, instead the amount depends on the number of players. If you have 1 player you get 12% of force gold, but with 2 players they get 9% each (so 18% in total); so if a comp ally joins a 1 player game they could get say 6% of the commulative force gold that was lost due to one less player) So basically, there could be a integer value, call it lost_gold_due_to_less_players. This value could be determined as the game progresses (such as everytime someone leaves or every 5 minutes), and when a comp ally joins then they get a portion of this gold. Or you could come up with a simpler formula but this seems the most balanced.

the truth Wrote:"i have no idea how you could make the buyable"

with a command like:
-buymirror x
(x is the amount of gold you give for your mirror)

maybe there could a be reduction affected by the amount of players in the team
5players + 100% goldcost
4players + 75% goldcost
3players + 50% goldcost
2players + 25% goldcost
1players + 0% goldcost
