Lot of possibilities:

- multibow
- plasma cannon
- basic canon (i like this one)
- the long range 2k rocket (dont know the name, i almost never use it since i seem to suck at huge range weaponry)
- or any of the 1.5k weapons, but i tried once with flame cocktail or what is it called? i didnt like it really...

the heli just gives you a bit more maneauverability right? wouldn't two basic magics do more damage than a basic cannon?

They cost more too...

and basic canon is a bit like the tornado, if you use it right, it is a real tank killer.
Also you dont always have to look at the dps only, like for this example, 2 basic magics have more dps then one tornado (i compare to tornado because of the same cost) but every creep hit the tornado does is (almost) always a creep kill as to where a basic magic has to hit the creep more times to kill it, so the force or another player can go and kill your weakened creeps. So actually you need more luck for good creeping with 2 basic magics imho.

(it goes a bit further than this, but just to explain how i see it)

Btw, as far as requirements for high rank tanks were added in 8.36 extra long range weapons with air units became more valuable. When in 8.35 enemy could quickly buy inf and you can nothing to do to him with your long range now you can easily kill low-hp tanks with your quite expansive long-range and don't to get worry about your 2k-3k hp:)

i prefer less range with heli... cuz hes easy to maneuvre and move. so less range = more dmg. but i do the same strat (2 basic)

1) Heli + 1 basic... u u still have 900 gold

- then creep and kill some tank if u can

2) at 1250 gold, get another basic... i know this isnt at start but it almost same..

A numerous tries proved that buying and grading 1 basic magic is better than waiting for another without grading the first one.

Well I join Vomitus first post. You know - I kinda hate it to be blocked. Blocking creeps, cliffs, teammates... thats all in all just annoying. Even if you play him with double bows for fast creepin and get a heavy tank (1 of 3 ground vehicles that worth buying) the cliffs and all those are still annoying. I for myself play a Heli more often... actually i play him in 9 of 10 games or so - and yeah hes good maneuverable. That's why it is nearyl unimportant what kind of weapon you take, since you won't be killed anyway if you are halfway good. Back to weapon choice. I like to play him with 2 Light Plasmas then grade both or go for Bombarding then a Machinegun to get you some kills. Also This is nice if some lowrange/highdamage Lighttanks or Helis try to kill you on low distance. The problem about this tactic isthat you either go for long range in midgame... what is kind of annoying if your are sieging, but good at defending - or you
go lowrange which is good at sieging but suxx at defending. As for the 2 LPlasmas you can go for 1 or 2 PlasmaWaves, the Goboaircraft and a Lasermedium (corresponds good with range of Waves and Guns... also it matches fromcollour (just looks cool xD)). For the grading I think it depends on the weapon. If you have for exapmle 1 SR I would go for a a second and third one before upgarding - since it is cheaper and the chance to hit a tank increases rly.

I hate SR - Fire arrows FTW

btw there are 4 or 5k starts too... dont forget that guys

lol. maybe you can only play with 3, but all of them are generally worth buying. (except for the exploder maybe ^^)

lol weapons only. youre a nice feeder i suppose. you should rather go for hulls or better new tanks than for a third weapon.

Well - if you want to know the other two I like to play... Infernal and Shredder... I'm not sooo comfortable bout the other ones :? :? . For the hulls :arrow: ... there cant be no tactic when you buy hulls because it mainly depends on the enemy player skills. Whether you go for Ironhull or Steelhull before second weapon or after or if you directly go for a better tank... depends on what you like more and what fits the situation the best :!: ... Ive played whole games with Heli only... if you want to know - yeah the enemy has been kinds unskilled and had a feeder and I had a graded Goldhull at the end. Sry for my bad english btw . :roll:

Playing without hull for so long makes me think you played only against critical noobZ. Even a Medium player can make you cry on 25th minute if you have heli without hull. Regardless of weapons that you have(simple 1 HT-rocket will be enoughSmile).
If you talk about tactics - I talk about situation when you have flying machine with weapon cost >> Total HP cost. But there can be no tactics unless weapon distance difference between you and enemy is more or equal at least 250. 200 is not enough due to delays of internet games(even 0.5 secs is enough) - critical failures occur too often to make this tactic efficient. But even if you possess a couple of 1300-range weapons and no hull you merely can kill someone because they WILL have more(even MUCH more) than 1000 HP and they will be able to retreat, and if you want to make killing blow with your magic, you will be killed instantly while trying to reach to distance required for cast.

As for me I usually start with 1 graded basic magic and heli. ASAP I buy second and grade it. Then while enemies are gathering money for HT I kill them very easy(I don't know why:)) and I buy next BM. When I have 3 BM an enemy still doesn't have HT and I don't have any hull either.
Further events depend on two factors: will enemy by tank faster than I collect 1.5k and will they hunt for me. If one of these conditions is false - I buy 4th BM and also grade it. And after that I buy steel hull. If both conditions result true - I buy Iron Hull.

As my experience shows, at the beginning I was able to collect even for a Fear magic until enemies were able to get HT. Nowadays they are more skillful and most I can do is to get 4 graded BMs and a steel hull at exact moment when enemy gets HT.
There were only two times when I failed with this tactic.

Conclusion: a combination of high firepower and maneuverability makes you a very dangerous opponent because you can inflict huge damage in a short time(including skills) when you don't expect it.

Disadvantage: due to low hp it is very hard to defend CPs. If your team lacks TANK(high HP) - you will probably loose the game against GOOD players.

Wow, heli + 3 basic magics is sick, i cant imagine more then half my games i would be succesfull with that, because players are too good to be kicked ass with that tactic nowadays. Do you play lane with that or mid, or doesnt matter? It is not that i question your abilities, dont get me wrong, its just that it makes me wonder about some things...

upgrading them all (nice shock effect) looks like a fat dmg burst
