Change default zoom

I pity the fool who plays this map at the default zoom level. Suggest changing this to a higher value to be more newb friendly.

I think it's far worse for a new player to have a huge zoom and see a lot of effects at once when he doesn't know what they are.

Also:I play quite close to the deafault zoom (i play zoom 3000) and sometimes forget the command and don't even recognize the difference. I'm ill at ease when playing with any zoom above ~3200. You can't expect anyone to feel the same way about zoom as you do, there will be new players who want to zoom 4000 after 5 minutes, other players might want to play without any zoom forever. Higher zoom is not a priori better.

I play with default zoom. And i dont see a reason to change zoom. And i pity for those who play with zero sensitive zoom levels...

If I'm not wrong, the current zoom level is 2750. I think it's good enough. I wouldn't mind if it was higher, but preferable not over 3000 to not discomfort those players to much who like it closer. But Prog is right about the zoom might confuse new players. I was kinda surprised when I played battle tanks first times that everything was so far away so I never used the zoom for zooming further out in the beginning. Eventually I saw it's advantage to get a greater overview over the battle.


I always use zoom 3500-3800. Any further away makes everything to small for my taste. Someone is using 4000-5000.

I always have my zoom at 5000, but my screen is 22'' so that has a lot to do with it, the bigger the screen the higher zoom you can have.
Because a month ago i had a 17" and no way would i ever play it over 3500.

I use perfect zoom 3210. I suggest it as default, so I don't have to write it anymore... :p

lol it can't be a perfect number, its not even a prime number.. should have been 3209 to be a prime
