mine system idea

i got an idea to rework the purchasable mines, as people keep discussing the use od mines/radar/remote defuse.

what about making mines consumable? of course consumable mines should be cheaper, maybe their cooldown should be reduced a little then, too. i thought of 8-20 charges.

this would make mines more attractive i think, especially when the cost is lowered. so buying a radar/remote defuse could become more attractive too in games where mines are used, but dont make the mining player lose so much money.

i have seen a non-trading player buying the purchasable mines exactly one time, and i have played many BT games.

In my opinion it would be less attractive to buy a radar or remote fuse, because you know when you buy them, your enemy wont buy addional mines, so YOU wasted your money and not your enemy, so why should you buy them then?

Right now its like this, that you have to avoid the mining player and he has to avoid you when you buy a radar or remote fuse. The items to counter the mines are of course cheaper, but only because you just cant do anything else with them (except the radar).

Many players don't know that there is a counter to mines (they know radar sees them, but some don't know of defuser). They follow the pros which writes -notips, and they try not to be noob and also types -notips to look cool and prolike. Then they miss important hints.


But I only buys defuse kit, when the enemy do buy those powerful mines. If they only lay demolisher mines, I usually don't waste gold on mine defuse kit.

It would be kinda cool, if there was a 10000 price class mines which does 6400 damage, 4th mine to buy. Only to make it more effective defense against Titans/Frost/Infernals. I do rarely totally go pure mine tactic and buy all 3 mines. I kinda missed the 4th...

The point that you can kill with mines, you get money with them. You can always do that, even if your enemy has a radar and a remote fuse. But when there are no mines around, what can you do with a remote fuse? Right, nothing.

hmm. i think playing with mines vs radar and remote defusal prevents you from killing and earning money. ok, there are players who havnt got the counters, but the defusal player will most likely try to fight against the mining dude and to defuse his mines.

what about hiding the -notips command? i think the league password is hidden this way, too.

I have a suggestion for the mine war, because this theme is open i write it here.
I play with mines in most of my last games (and than I buy upgrates)

Mines are not too strong but many players don't react if someone playes mines. They still run their usuall tactic like buying 2-3 Wapons bevor getting a hull or a new (stronger) tank. So I get rather much kills. And even if they use antimine items it is only too few.

So my ideas.

most used the way to make mines visible is to buy the wards for 300 gold (I think they work 2times each for 3mins) I would make them work for 5mins each but make them destructible. So the other team can destroy them if they can make them visible.

I don't know if i buy radar,all of my team can see the mines or only me. If only I can see the mines. I would reduce to cost of radar too 650-850. Even if not a bit cheaper may not be wrong. Because only the items for 300 gold are bought (at least when i play - radar is not bought often)

And another idea would be that the removing of mines brings a bit of gold. For Example: the Mines from tankskills brings 1gold each. The small Mines from the item (for 2500) should bring 5. The big Mines should bring 7 and the huge Mines 10.

Okay to give the Players of mines a bit of advantage i would give them a few bushes more in the mittle there is nearly nothing there where mines can be hided from radar. The two other sides have no problems with bushes, there are enough.

For other antimine items i see no use because there is enough players can to. Tinkers for example can lay items in the towers (of the force and their own) or the most simble way to survive is just to buy another hull bevor the second weapon.

pls dont reduce the cost of a radar too much, cause radar also is a counter against trader AND smokeengine.

I dont see often smoke engines and minelayers, since the mines get weaker, so i dont think the radar or the defuse should be cheaper.

Mine Layers loose many advantages, like much combat experience or maybe creep gold.
And try hard to kill against players with a hull. Big Grin
